Yeah, that's a nice headline, but what's the context? Is that normal behind a safety car? Did he do something similar on previous laps? Something different? Brundle or Crofty said something about it being a late getaway for the safety car. Did that affect anything? Also brake checking is pretty dumb and extremelynhigh risk; do you think Piastri is dumb or risky?

Don't get me wrong, I like Piastri. If this were Lando or Hamilton or some other Ferari driver, I'd be laughing at him losing the race and prolly "disgusted" by a brake check. I am aware of my bias.

 

I think they have established that 30 psi is the tipping point.

 

I still think there must be typo, 60psi is NOTHING in F1 braking, certainly not enough to brake 100kph in 1.3sec or so

It must be 60BAR for Piastri and 30BAR for Russel.

 

Breaking hard enough to scrub off 100mph is pretty extreme.

There has been no team that has rose to the heights Red Bull has in the last 30 years other than AMG, and that is down to Horner.

Very short-sighted. With him and Newey gone, the team will be mid pack filler for the rest of their time.

 

IMO Christians arrogance finally caught up to him. I enjoyed him and it will be strange without him. If RB does not get things right for 2026 then DrA5 is right, they will be relegated to the midfield for the next decade.

He will be ok.Some are reporting the red bull buy out of his contract is in excess of 35 million.

I doubt he's doing it for the loot at this point. If he's living paycheck to paycheck now, he needs to tell Geri to stop buying so many handbags and stilettos.
