I'm watching the replay, because it was SUCH an exciting race that I fell asleep during this afternoon's live broadcast.
I said a couple pages ago that if I was a team owner I would do everything I could to get him on my team. But he is so intense that he does act like an asshole at times.
That's why I like him.I also like Norris but I don't know how it will work out for him. NORRIS INSISTS HE WANTS TO WIN F1 TITLE "BY BEING A NICE GUY" www.motorsport.com/f1/news/norris-insists-he-wants-to-win-f1-title-by-being-a-nice-guy/10710259/
Does anyone else hate Martin Brundle as much as I do? I've been taking a little more interest in F1 and had the pre-race commentary on before this weekends race. Maybe this has been covered in the last 555 pages but I'm not reading through all that. That guy is such a stooge! What a fumbling idiot with nothing to add. He made the whole event worse.
I felt the same way when I first started watching a number of years ago. His humour is pretty dry, which I appreciate, so it grew on me. He's not afraid to stick his nose in on anyone or talk shit about them when they blow him off.
Between this race and COTA + Mexico last year, I think an obvious flaw in Max's driving is starting to hurt him. He is the fastest driver on the grid but he is also increasingly predictable. He knows the overtaking guidelines are extremely favorable to whoever is ahead at the apex of the corner, so rather than drive a normal line he just slams it in deep, no concern for the exit of the corner, just trying to get a nose ahead at the apex. The other drivers have caught on to this and have started to give it right back to him, so what used to be a slam dunk pass for him is now 50/50 at best, worse if you consider the likelihood of damage or a penalty.
His chat with Briatore was great, opening with 'you fired me once.' Without Brundle knocking everyone out of the way to get random sound bites it would be a boring last 10 minutes of the pre race show. I like him.
I think he is hilarious. He doesn't take himself too seriously, and has fun with the "celebrities" that are full of themselves. If you aren't a pine cone (That ok YZAZZ?), he's good with you.
Watch the highlights. Get the start, any significant passing, and the final 2 laps. Done in under 15 minutes. Other than Hamilton and Alonso, I don't see many drivers that have any personality. Max has the outlook of a dried lemon.
FIA Record book shows Max as a 4 time world champion.........Isn't that why Hamilton went to Ferrari so he could win his 8th championship ? I would like to see him win his 8th championship with Ferrari.
Hamilton is done. He is living off his past accomplishments. If he was still fast, he'd be beating his teammates, regardless of how good the car is.
