They’re making a mistake canning anyone.

Red Bull however…. Holy shit how does Perez still have a job? And I like that Brown said good job stewards/no further complaints. Horner and Toto would be crying a fucking river until the next season.

The rumor is that Perez was supposed to be canned over summer break, maybe earlier, but his personal sponsors stepped in and agreed to cover any lost WCC winnings if he was kept in the car until then end of the year.

With RB 3rd in the WCC now, that could be $18 million or so in lost winnings. More than $1 million for every stellar performance like yesterday.

When by all rights, they should have the Constructors Championship, if Max ends up with the title, because the thought process should be, especially early this season, that if the car was all that, Sergio would have a win or two, (like Bottas did with Mercedes), or at least be finishing in the top 8 on a regular basis........

Good point. Even when they're racing each other Sainz and Leclerky seem to be able to keep it on track and without ending in tears. I don't know if they get along or not but they seem to work well together. I'm not sure it's going to be a similar dynamic with Sir Whinington (though I thought he did a great job racing Russell yesterday in Mexico). That said, Hamilton knows how to win championships so bringing his vast experience to Ferrari might be useful in the end (assuming he actually gets to have the voice he hopes to have within the team).

Albon has been the obvious #1 driver at Williams but he definitely seems to be feeling the heat since Colapinto joined. Wonder just how much pressure he's going to be under when Sainz is there. Albon's previous issue at Redbull wasn't lack of talent, it was a lack of ability to deal with pressure. I thought he had grown past it but maybe it's creeping back in now.

I always wonder what the value is of sponsoring a driver that is just embarrassing himself week after week.

Only because they're not in the championship chase and they know it's almost over as teammates. There was a time, up until last year, when they could not stand each other, clashed at any opportunity, and blatantly disregarded any team orders. There was no long-term future for them as teammates in a competitive car.

His biggest problem was being in the vicinity of Hamilton twice when he had a strong chance at career-best finishes and getting unceremoniously tossed.

I told my wife last year that the only person who could take Carlos' job was Hamilton. I was right.

My favorite team now has my least favorite driver. Joy.

I'm on board with Sainz gaining ground as a driver on everyone right now. I loved how he chucked it down the inside of Max and made the pass stick first try, I can imagine that pretty daunting. Bummer he's going to go all the way down to Williams.

I would have liked him at HAAS in place of Ocon.

I'd like to see Sainz back in the Red Bull fold. He should replace Checco. Move Checco to Williams....or IndyCar.

I thought you have to maintain the gap until the green flag? Max damn near ran into Oscar.

WoW is that a HUGE win for Max!
17 th to 1 st really seemed unimaginable.
McLaren blew it today. Alpine looking at $60 million more in constructors championship thanks to today. The odds on a podium by both Alpine or Max from 17 th to win had to be outrageous .
