Reminds me of when we were there spectating at the Creg and one rider came in super hot and struggled to make the turn. He managed to scrub off the speed so he was almost at a standstill when he hit the haybales. He teetered and then fell over. NOOOOOOOOO!!! If you had taken a vote we would have let him proceed. :D

Dom's bike after the chain broke at about 136mph. Subframe, bodywork and his "backside" took the blunt of the impact.

in 2010 I raced it with a man named Ian Hutchinson. He went 5 for 5 that year and crushed everyone. Then he went through crushing leg injuries, the type that would cost almost every other man their leg below the knee. It has ended many a racers career. A TIB/FIB crushed into powder. Then he had a stroke and almost died.

Today he finished the Superstock race in 5th overall. There are very few times I will post about a racers accomplishments, because as a general rule they are all a little different and pushing yourself past normal limits and persevering past pain is just a thing every racer does. It's normal, they just do it.

So when I take the time to post something about a special person, that has done something so special that it moves me to post. Take some time out of your busy day and google that. Today was a special day at the TT. One that I am not sure I will forget for a very long time.

While Hutchy finished 5th today for some they will say meh, it's a top 5 so what. If you only knew what that man had to go through to just sit on a bike and ride it across the parking lot many people would not be able to do that. He not only did that but raced the toughest road race in the world and finished 5th. Tops to you Hutch, your biggest fan!

Creg ny Baa pretty much ended a good friend of mine's racing career. He came off in practice at the Manx in 1980 and was left with very little movement in his foot/ankle that it was very difficult to ride a bike at racing speeds again. He did a few meetings some years later but wasn't the same and then when his brother got very badly hurt at the Ulster GP he decided enough was enough.

He podiumed at the NW 200 this year. T'was amazing to see it. He said that was his "all or nothing" to see if he could still compete at all. Hutchy doesn't get emotional but that time he did.

Good post Critter. Was watching and trying to pull Ian up along with Dean. Was awesome to see genuine emotions back at the NW200 from Ian.

He is really a nice guy, in 2010 when he won it all, he was still super humble and very nice to me and the other riders
