Is it fair that the record was broken on a NGSS bike and not a 600cc?

    Record stands. FWIW, that 600 Gerloff was on was a missile-different rules.

    The 600 bike Mathew raced last season didn’t have the same parts and wasn’t as fast.

    Garrett will be 30 in 2-3 months time so 8 years ago he was 21, maybe 22 depending on what time of the summer the round was held.

    Ah ok. I was thinking he went to superbike when he was about 20 but obviously my memory is off. But that makes sense as I knew he was 5-6 years younger than me. Just forgot momentarily lol

    It’s also been 18 years since Road Atlanta was last repaved.

    Asphalt condition seems to be one of the biggest variables in terms of lap records.

    I remember a spat of lap records in the early / mid 2000s that weren’t broken until tracks started going through their repave cycle the last 2-3 years
