I will never own another gas vehicle, deisel power all the way! I have a 99 Dodge 2500 5.9L 24Valve cummins and it runs 424hp/1056ftlbs and i get 22-24 hwy and 12-16 towing going 75mph! Its pretty fun when lil sports cars pull up next to me and they get smoked out and cant keep up with ol blue! edge drag comp 5" BD exhaust AFE stage II 80hp injectors and i got all that for just over 1k Real trucks dont use spark plugs
Just ordered it from Moes Performance for $304 delivered. Should be in middle to end of next week, as they prob have to order it from Superchips direct. We'll see how she does the day it comes in!
I was thinking about getting that edge , I like the gages in it. I just worrry about running the engine too hard on the other settings. I would prob go with stage 1.
So..............I got my superchips yesterday Got it plugged in and downloaded my "stock" map to it and then started to change some things. I had just filled the truck up on sunday with 87, so I started with the 87 octane advanced tune so I could change the gear shifts, limiter, tire size ect. Got everything changed up, raised the shift points a tad, and took her out. First impression was only for about 3 miles, but my goodness! Truck picks up speed a LOT smoother and quicker, shifts better as well. I knew the ultimate test would be on my morning commute this am (~ 40 miles to work) And it was quite impressive! I didn't have to press the gas as hard to get it to pick up speed going over the mt, shifting was way smoother, and it was just begging for the pedal to be floored Overell impressions are the I LOVE IT! And I cant wait to run this tank of 87 out so I can fill up with 93 and jump to the performance tune, where I will see more gains all over Thanks for all of the suggestions (and the Dakota Dyno chart) I am a very happy person this am
Dayum, just tried tow mode, while not towing I wonder if it's safe to leave it in tow mode over the performance 91 all the time, while not towing?
It should be fine to do that. I'd imagine the 91 performance makes a little more hp but the towing program probably has a nice torque curve while giving up peak power. If I was towing something and knew I'd be towing again in a couple of weeks I'd leave mine on the towing program for my daily trips to work during those weeks.
Cant really tell about the hp without a dyno, but the seat of the pant TQ is there with the tow mode (over the perf 91) I drop it off friday morning for a Magnaflow catback exhaust
Little update, a few things have changed here recently. Decided that I wanted to sell a few things, and get a bigger, newer to me truck. Got the word out that I wanted to sell my small enclosed locally on a friday, it was gone by noon saturday the following monday at 2pm, I listed my coleman pop up for sale, and by 5pm I had 3 people lined up to come look at it tuesday after work. The first couple who came took it Thursday I listed the Dakota for sale, at 9 am and at 9:30 I had a dealer call me and make me an offer on it, I thought he was bull crapping saying he was going to come get it that day, but sure enough, after many phone calls back and forth, he sent his guys on the drive over, with cash and took it home. I dont think I have ever sold things that fast in my life before I decided I wanted another Dodge, cause they have been really good to me in the past. Gas for me, no diesel. I wanted something that I could pay cash for. I decided that I wanted an 03-06 Dadge ram 1500, with the 5.7 hemi motor. I picked one up 2 days ago, but the best thing about it, my superchips 3865 works on this truck too Good lord she is a BEAST with the programmer in it. It's a beautiful truck, 04 1500 in dark charcoal gray, black interior. 88k miles. Already got a set of flowmasters on it, a K&N cold air intake, and now my superchips tuner. I actually made quite a bit of money too
Hey, curious, any injector issues? I've got the same truck, basically same mileage. Mine started to smoke at idle recently. Frack, time for injectors but since it isn't really doing anything bad other than the smoke @ idle I've been putting it off.
You've got that right. I've got the LB7 in mine and am amazed at the mileage I get on the highway. Unbelievable for a 3/4 ton. Easily around 24.
Put a DR Performance module in my CRD Jeep. Increased MPG To 32 hwy torque up over 600 foot pounds & HP is around 160. Pulled the trailer better than my hvac F150 ever did. Unfortunately, my egress valve is out, so the performance is down. I'll have it replaced again since it's under warranty, but next Time, I'll put in a block-off kit.
