Going through my phone pics and remembered about this thread. This is from back in the spring. Took us 4 hours by atv, and 1hr by boat to get to the outpost we were staying at. 20 minutes in to fishing I catch this beauty speckle. Hand my phone to a buddy to get this picture. The fish got eye hooked and was bleeding everywhere so I put him down by my foot to keep him. My buddy in the front says, "hang on, let me get a picture with MY phone". So I pick it back up to hold for the picture, it flips it's tail and.... He get's this picture. Was pretty pissed for about 15 minutes until I caught this 3lb rainbow for dinner. Took a picture on the boat floor this time.....lol We all had a good laugh about it for the rest of the week. Now I'd rather have the picture and story than the fish. Also hiked into this little spot while we were up there. Picture says it all. Not a soul around for miles.
Was more proud of this one though. My sons first fish landed without my assistance at all. I did cast for him though. If we go by proportion to the fisherman that's a 6lber fer sure....lol
Just getting back from Panama. Some crazy kayak fishing for a week in the middle of nowhere. Big Cubera Snapper, yellowfin and rooster fish. My arms and legs and everything else is tired!
The walls are crumbling, but still finding a way, spending the first Christmas with my nieces from Spain. They are ยน3 and nine. Maybe an old dog can learn new tricks
The last hurricane of the year is gone so summers over. Let's see some fish pics. Today reminded me why I fish. It's been to windy in Madagascar for the last 2 weeks to take any kind of boat out for a charter. Really wanted to catch a GT. I brought some gear with me, waited for low tide, walked about 3/4 of a mile on a sand bar to the backside of an island. Winds cranking, walking on the edge of an exposed reef, tide is coming in fast. Just about to give up after 45 minutes with a popper and it got clobbered, new it was a big fish, on a small travel spinning outfit, fought the fish for over 30 min, slipping and sliding over the reef running sideways, with the fish, getting soaked from head to toe when the swell bounced off the rocks. Got lucky and turned him into the only spot to land him. It was funny when I got back and said I caught a fish and let it go. Showed some people the pic and they were upset I let it go and just can't comprehend not killing everything and eating it. Could only get a pic laying down next to it.
This is me and my wife and daughter. She caught this one in the Gulf of Alaska. It was almost big enough to enter into the derby in Valdez.
The boy can sling bait when he wants to... Sis caught the black tip just off of North Captiva Island last summer. It was tasty!
Awesome Crappie! They are a great catch, especially for kids. My memories with my dad were the best catching them
