I’m going to get a 6x10 - 7x14 and wanted to get some ideas of setups for race trailers. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm always looking for ways to better utilize my 6x10 but here's the jist until I can get you some pics: I've got a Kobalt wheeled tote in the nose with tire warmers and power tools in it with fuel cans on top. The bike is on the right side and a wheeled tool box on the left. Electric scooter and canopy between them. Generator and stands behind the tool box with just enough room for whatever the hell I almost forget and just throw it in! If I had a bigger trailer I'd clutter it up with too much unnecessary stuff.

Go bigger than what you want…. TRS systems are a must…. 8.5 Wide makes a huge difference for everything as well… A futon for a bed works well too.. you can move it around without sacrificing wall space ect.. IMG_1071.jpeg

I’m not racing and pack pretty simple stuff that can fit into my F150. And I love how I can just haul ass when needed.

But a 7x14 track purpose built trailer just sounds so nice.

7x12, my son and I use it to haul the bikes and then sleep in it during the weekend. Not super glamorous but beats a tent. I have a little shore power cable to run an AC and TV. Two decent folding cots for beds. When I retire next summer I plan on heading out west or up north in it with one bike in the back. Stay in a camp area for a few days, ride during the day and then move on to a new spot.

I almost splurged on a trailer last week for the GNF-moving forward. I too like hauling ass in my pickup as needed. However on the way down to Barbers’s I had a few guys towing trailers blow past me at easily 80-85mph. I’d be the guy that tries that and loses it:crackup:

Nice set up. I was scared there might be some Rangers decor bringing down the esthetic...

Screw a cot or an air mattress or a tent....If you can swing it, grab a Class C RV. I paid $22k for my '05 26' w/27k miles, 1 owner in Nov. 2020.
    Best purchase ever.

How much ass do you wanna haul? lol.

    I do 80-85 mph pulling a 7x7x16 with my Excursion and/or '05 Winnebago RV....Both V10's. The RV is governed at 85 unfortunately.

Bought a 7x12 this week and it’s ready for the TRS sets to be mounted. Before I drill a hole, is there anything I should be considering? Any great tips that may have helped? I’ve heard that I should roll the bike into my Baxley and drop the TRS bar in place to get an idea of where it should go, then place the plate down, mark it and drill.

I’m assuming that I need to place both bikes side by side and behind the front door opening for easy access to the other track items.
    Any help is appreciated.

Martin Lewis Can we go back to the track already?

Don't over-tighten the TRS hold-down bolts. The plates can pull into a softer floor and warp JUST enough to make installing and removing the blocks difficult/impossible.
That's pretty much what I did. The problem I ran into is that the second hole I drilled was just ever so slightly too close to the vertical section of one of the floor beams. It took a grinder to make room for the nut on the bottom. I would recommend measuring out the distance from your planned bolt holes to the back of the trailer, then from the back of the trailer back to the bolt hole positions, but on the underside of the trailer. That way you can adjust the position of the plates for at least 2 of the 4 bolts to go through the steel frame, or so you can at least avoid having to drill a second set of holes because there's something in the way underneath the floor.

Also, an allen wrench with a long pipe slipped over it works great to hold the bolts still up top while you tighten the nuts underneath. Unless you've got friends who can help, of course.

I have a 7x14. So many pros coming from a 5x8 utility trailer. Only con is a big one. Going from 23mpg to 8. Driving from ny to pitt or summit will add a few hundred dollars to my weekend.

Not necessesarily... you could stagger them. Ideally you want the majority of the cargo weight over the axles. A sportbike takes up about 18' sq ft of floor space. Your trailer has ~84 sq ft. The more stuff you can put on the walls the better.
Also make sure you have 2 ready to go spare tires... they can be mounted on the walls with a floor flange for threaded pipe & a pvc T as a retainer.

Well I’ve nearly decapitated myself on these ramp cables twice now. Just getting used to having a trailer. What are the safety items others are using? Pool noodles?
