Hey guys, Just thought I would put this out there. I had a little issue with a battery that I purchased from this company. It was mostly my fault. But Shorai took care of my issue with outstanding service. Sent me out a replacement battery asap. Now my Aprilia starts with barely a touch of the starter button. Also you are dealing with a fellow racer (Shawn Higbee) Great service, great company, great staff. And damn! can a battery weigh any less?
A friend of mine purchased a shorai battery as well, not from Higbee or anyone on the Beeb. He has gone through a lot of batteries on his Hayabusa but this one he swears by, I thought about switching to it once my OEM goes out
He must work for them. I just happened to note the email was from him. I don't know him. Other than having him fly past me in turn eight at Willow springs a while back. Just thought is was kinda cool. Battery kicks ass for sure. Was easily worth the money in weight savings alone, and the thing actually works. When you first pick one up you'd swear it was an empty shell!
I have a Shorai waiting for me at the local shop. The DRZ400SM has been eating batteries like crazy whenever it sits for a couple of days. I keep my bikes in storage facility so I cannot keep them on a trickle charger. I am hoping the battery is everything it claims. The weight is surprising.
Alien Motion has their stuff on sale, and they support WERA! $89.99 for an 8-cell lithium is awesome!
I had a 400 that was similar, ended up running new wires from the rectifier directly through a fuse then to the battery. Fixed the problem. I would check the battery while it was running and it would only be around 13-13.2 volts. Out of the rectifier it was always over 14 volts. Stock, the wiring just can't cope I suppose, it runs all the way through the harness before making it to the battery. I just made a straight shot to the battery.
Does the place have a light? I have seen a thing that screws in where the bulb goes and gives you a plug or two.
I have two of them.. one was suspect... so I went to their business which is San Jose area.. nice guys... took care of me.. saw a few bikes there.. these guys are riders too... Ron
Dig my Shorai. I've never had to warm it up like other lithium iron batteries supposedly require. Also, I drained it completely by mistake, which is supposed to be a death sentence, but it's been going strong for a year since. Good stuff.
