Well, I've pitched and I think he's open to growing the network through privately owned locations. IE if I buy a place in Trentino, it is far enough away from Biella that it is a different destination. Through a partnership, members could then use my property as a storage spot, BnB, etc. as well.

That means if anyone in the membership group wants to open up their space in Tuscany, they could join the group and space would be available. Maybe if you get a place in that region you could be that area's part of the network and it helps offset costs?

Right now there's a LOT of people that come down from Finland, Sweden, the UK, etc., but those areas are less exciting to ride in. I know there's a guy south of Marseille that would likely be part of this privately-owned network too because a handful of people have kept bikes there over the years for Cannonball.

I was in San Pedro Sula for this whole week.

We were in bulletproof Suburbans so obviously we were fine and traveled well, but the living standards were pretty poor.

OK so does western Algeria count in the middle of the desert? Or eastern Morocco? Are we talking about BFE hundreds of miles from no where or shit holes or both? Bolivia was a dump in the middle of now where like nothing around.

How about a hospital with a green garden hose tacked to the wall as a shower and a blanket on the floor to sleep on? Yes it was the local hospital.

I'll tag onto India of the two dozen or so countries I have been to. Nice people but the disparities between rich and poor is glaring. Stayed in a very nice hotel where a guy runs up to open the door when you enter. The hotel is walled which was great for the people that built a cardboard house outside the wall because one wall of their house is already done. The drainage ditch is their bathroom, cows walking around the airport etc...

I was on my tenth day and thought I avoided the eating concerns when all of a sudden my gut tied itself in knots and I crapped myself and had to go back to the hotel to clean up.

Saudi Arabia was another weird place. Physically nice but got a strong vide that they really don't want outsiders there. Most everyone I worked with were foreigners mostly from India and Pakistan. You didn't mingle with the locals really.

My boss in my first job was lower caste Indian. Great guy and totally American (liked Scotch and steak). A new fellow employee was apparently upper caste. A total retard with no sense that he was now in America and could take that caste shit and shove it. When he finally quit we gave him a going away lunch and didn't invite him!

Sounds like Bolivia hasn't changed much since I was there nearly 30 years ago... I spent some time in Santa Cruz and Guayaramerín when I was a lad. The markets were an eye opening experience.

Nice town! We spent the day there last October. Are you in the medieval city, or outside? Villa or apt? Who watches and maintains your place when you're not there? You're 'Merican?

I lived and worked in SA. Never felt unsafe and was welcomed by the Saudis. They kind of pride themselves in being welcoming.
