I'll bite... why do you ask? I'm pretty much "long term" in everything I buy, but my long term may be different than yours...
Its one of my best ones and have a good bit. Ive always thought id just hold on and keep buying from time to time but now im thinking of selling some. What say you on appl?
I bought some in december '22 and it's up 42%. Wish I'd bought more, it's only about 3% of my Etrade account. I'm not a DCA guy...I'll buy more when the stock (or the market) takes a big dip. Disclaimer: I'm not big on....
Yeah i hear ya and most of mine are that also. So my original buy in im up almost 700% which was in 2016 and ive bought bit by bit over the years. I think last purchase was last year or so. I kinda wanna sell some (prob the original purchase) while its hot or just keep rollin? ugh
That's awesome! I don't own a single Apple product, but I'm in the minority... they're not going anywhere. Unless you need the cash or have a better place to invest it I can't see why you wouldn't let it ride.
Yeah i dont have anything else in mind to purchase at the moment and maybe i shouldnt as ive bought too many that are just garbage. Im more curious on what you guys have on something like this where youre up and have had for more than say 5 years
If you think the US will enter a recession soon sell some. Even if we dont do a full on 'recession' consumer spending is slowing and apple sells to consumers. That stock will probably be down some in 1H of 2024.
good to know but care to share your plans/thoughts? Guessing youre holding till you cash out on retirement time?
It's in my IRA, so yea I'm holding for the long term. I've sold a bit over the years when it got to be too large a percentage of my portfolio. It's been on a long run over the last 10 months, so this my be a good time to sell if you are thinking about it. OTOH, if you are thinking of buying, I'd hold off for a while.
We are selling off a good bit today to cover the difference in price between the old house and this one. I'll be debt free again by the end of the week.

That's so freaking awesome!!!! I'm very happy for you and your wife. I hope to get there some year, but since I'm trying to grow and even buy additional forklift companies, that isn't expected too soon. If you've ever gone swimming, you have experienced it too. I remember going skinny dipping with some girls while in college, but during summer break when everyone was back home. We got the girls to climb the fence with us to get in. My best friend, the one I've mentioned before that all the chicks swooned over, and I. So we are all jumping in and out of the pool, having some fun and he is standing at the edge of the pool, knowing him he was probably posing. Anyway one of the girls makes fun of his manhood shrinkage. I still remember him saying, "it's the cold water".
