and you wanted to put together a Duc 749 attempt at the FX championship. How much would you need to pay a rider and who would want to sign with such a team?

How much would an effort like this cost?

    Mechanic $25K
    Rider $50K
    Suspension guy $??
    Tires $$

    What do you think?
    :wow:

    Championship.. I only play to win:D :D

The way I figure there are a few privateers with the right machinery under them can run with Zemke and Duhamel.

You'll need to spend at least $100,000 more than Honda.

And rumor has it that Zemke and DuHamel will not be in FX next year.

    Depends on the mechanic...:D

I'm searching for real numbers here...

I think it has been proven you can beat honda on a budget!
The key is preperation and organization.

The mechanics will cost more than the rider, but chief wouldn't.

I would be abe to probably get some unique sponsorships should this blank check come through.

I was just using that as a reference.

When racing a Ducati, doesn't the mechanic deserve more money then the rider?

    :Poke: :D

You forgot tires, transportation fees, bike fuel, truck fuel, bike parts, extra engines . . .

Better build two bikes and double or even triple you rider fee.

    What does a rider cost?

Planning on two bikes etc. Transportation would be covered under sponsorship. I am sure tires would be covered a similar way.

I am figuring 750K to 1mill...would you ever be able to turn a profit?

How long are you looking at running this team? Going for a championship right out of the gate? You could get an up and coming rider or a great second tier rider for your $50k. An established front runner/ race winner will cost you upwards of $100k.

Call Gobert in Australia and offer him $50k plus bonuses.

A Mil will get you started with good, first rate equipment, a nice used tranporter (remember to pay the driver) and should get you to the end of the year.

I'm thinking second tier rider first tier equipment and support..Leasing transporter..doing all the "big show" stuff to garner additional sponsorships. How much cash out of pocket was the first year Jordan team? I'm picturing that kinda team w/ a better rider, tuner and equipmet.

What second tier rider would you want to put on a 749 championship winning ride?

Oh, and the first thing I'd tell you to do is shitcan the Ducati idea and order up 4 of next year's R6's and start ordering the YRD parts for them.

Or better yet, go Superstock with 2 riders and 2 of next year's R1's for each rider.

Make good friends with the Pirelli guy as well.

With a check for $50k? Lee Acree.

Second choices would be Gobert (if you raised your salary a bit), Mike Smith or even Chandler.

Honda will spend you into the weeds, M4 will out experience you out into left field but you may get a win now and again.

I'd have to talk with the checkwriter, but all he owns are ducati's so I'm trying to work through this logically.:D

I want an R6 real bad, but until the markets settle down I am not spending a dime..(out of my pocket)

If someone else is paying, then go Ducati. lol!

Get two riders. If this were to actually happen, I'd definitely call Gobert. Lee Acree as your second rider.

I also think the best option in FX is to deal with the Michelin man (since b'stone is taking a hike)

How much would the "experience" cost me? Most of it likes to run their own shows... Pegram, Ulrich, Huey:D

Want to put together a great program? Put Frank Angel on retainer. That man has forgotten more then most know.

    Trust me, Pirelli. ;)

I Like your train of thought here but lets be realistic jordan has pridmore and rapp and bazzaz tuning with a little help from yosh. on top notch gsxr 1000sand is probably spending well over 1.5-2 mill per season.. i really like acree but hes no better than pridmore and rapp. in my opinion bazzaz is a luddington,o'rorke level tuner..gobert is a dumb shit thats pissed away more opertunities than i care to acknowledge. but still has tremendous amounts of tallent but no sense of responsibility what so ever.. spend big money on mechs get a young hungry rider like eslick ,peris etc..dont lease the truck you will lose your ass.and as far as turning a profit what the fuck are u thinking!! the fastest way to become a millionaire racing is to start off a billionaire.
