Everything from small single seat homebuilts, biplanes to jets flying a closed course oval, racing wing tip to wing tip. Its awesome to see. The Unlimted class is all the cool modified WWII fighters, so loud and crazy fast. They built to many houses around airport. It is whole city over there now. I will miss them, they fly over my house. Unfortunately Reno is growing to big and turning in to CA. Beers are on me whoever wants to come
They should move it to Bonneville then. The wendover airport is a few miles away, or they can just mark off a couple runways on the flats.
Vendover is good spot and that airport has some history and things to see, like old bombers. Wonder if Fallon would work, they will expend that air base.
My friend moved from NorCal/Bay Area to Reno years ago, said come on up we can ride our dirt bikes right out the door! Couple years went by, got up there, and sure enough we had to truck the bikes to the dirt because a whole new neighborhood grew up around his place. Damn Californicators ruin everything!
Come over, you can still ride right out my door My friends from town come over, park in my yard and ride from here.
My buddy lives at the NW corner by Peavine... he can ride right out of his garage... then we saw some surveyors on the east side staking out another road & development.
That is not the case here. It is just getting to populated. A lot of houses next to each other and apartment complexes. This is not rich people neighborhood. They are loud and not just on race weekend. They also practice month before. National guard is also there flying in/out all the time and firefighting planes as well. Commercial airport is down in center of city, there is never luck of noise
I would guess, that having it at a heavily populated area could be a problem, if there's a problem. I pilot making a mistake in the desert messes up a dirt plot. A pilot making a mistake near an apartment, turns into a tragedy really fast. Tell the people to move again.

Ill be here with my Dad (aviation buff) brother and some friends. Will be my first time and oddly enough, my dads first time going even though he got his flight instructors license at the airport where it is held.
Coincidentally, the same group responsible for the Ramstein tragedy, the Frecce Tricolori, killed a 5-year-old girl Saturday when one of their jets crashed right after takeoff and hit an automobile.
