I think T may be referring to me being protested for riding an sv650 with an illegal front end on it. Even though I had asked to be dq'd myself after the race there was apparently a big deal made about me running the superstock race, even though when leading the race by about 2 seconds I pulled to the right on the straight away and let the people actually in the race pass as not to interfere with their battle. I would like to thank Ken Allen for letting me ride his SV so I could legally compete in the F2 and SB races though. The bike has a lot of power and rides on rails, was a blast to be on!
I think Scott Evans did that before in the SV class, but with a little different intent than you. Isn't it Matt Evans that rides #714 with you guys? I'm assuming they are related. Or changed his name to escape the reputation from the illegal front and and built motor that was run in Superstock.
Yeah, the only reason I ran the race was because I had signed up for it before I knew my primary bike had an issue. I figured since it was the last race at summit and I was already registered id go have fun.
I am the one who filed the protest on Allan's machine. I spoke to him before the race and he understood it was coming. After the race, Jim was unaware of a request by Allan to be DQ'd, so I made the formal protest. The protest was upheld. I did not mind that Allan started the race, and I am glad he pulled aside to allow Sean and me to battle for first without interference. Terence: Until this you have treated me well all year. I do not understand why you felt it was necessary to insult me and my team publicly. Your action shows NO CLASS. Allan: I did not arrive at the track with a PPPF with your name on it. It was not originally intended for you. Matt Evans: The PPPF was intended for you. Your bike is mighty fast for a carbureted SV650. You would have seen the PPPF at BeaveRun if not for your DNF. I made another for you. If you would like to see it, come race LWTSS at Nelson this weekend. WERA: Earlier this year it was explained to me that I was naive not to know that LWTSS was the biggest cheater class in all of racing. WERA makes it clear that riders are expected to police each other through the formal protest system. We should not be ridiculed by WERA officials when we do. -Ron Perel, Expert #28
You did right. I don't understand why people think it is OK to race a class they know they are illegal for and just pull over, or pull off. If you are out there you can have a bearing on the race. Someone letting you ride knowing you are illegal is pretty poor also. If you want to race more classes keep your bike SS legal.
Ron - I didn't take it as Terrance making fun of you in particular at all just the PPPF thing in general because it's been a joke on here for a long time. There's nothing at all wrong with what you did in the slightest and we appreciate the help in policing the classes. You'll find that Terrance is usually the bad guy for DQ'ing people so there's no way he was making fun of you for doing the same thing essentially.
Allen didn't set out to run that bike he was on, his bike started somking on Sat on the 3rd lap due to a egged cylinder, so he borrowed one to race. The only effect he had on that race was NONE he had 2-3 second lead on the field
