Could someone please chime in and help me out with a solution as to why my r6 is hitting the rev limiter at 13.8k? Just had the motor refreshed, went to pick it up and tune it only to run into this problem. Spent all day with my engine guy going through and making sure all connections were good and everything seemed to be ok unless there was a pair that we overlooked that couldve been crossed up. Could it be a faulty ecu, throttle postition sensor or crankshaft sensor? Im really lost on this one and stressed as well bc I leave for roebling thursday. Could it be something else thats a simple fix or easily overlooked?

  2. Do you know which powerband they installed during the motor build?

    Have the gauges been replaced?

So just the physical mechanical motor was removed and replaced and NOTHING else was done to the bike? Maybe you put a 675 motor back in instead of the R6 motor?

Its because of daylight savings time and the metric system.

Isn't there something where if the clutch or side stand switch is in the wrong position, it will go into a "limp mode".

  7. Red powerband, you need the Yamaha blue one.

Your throttle must go to 11 :)

Yea I believe an extra 8mm of the blue powerband was installed, the green one didnt give me the afr I wanted lol. But seriously.. motor was taken out completly and gone through. Still the same gauges rpm was based off the dyno. We looked at the side stand switch and the clutch switch, it had all been done before but something could have been crossed up with that or nk t connected good enough with the side stand switch. The clutch switch though I went through the electrical diagramand found where the wires were and looped them but no luck. But as I meantioned ive looked and a lot of possible causes and couldve easily looked over something else. Im goin to go back over again wendsday night. Just trying to get some good ideas of what could cause it so im nlt wasting time in the wrong area

Switch it out for a red limiter and that should do it.

Maybe someone actually fitted an accurate tach on your R6 instead of the fake Yamaha OEM "17 500 rpm" limiter.

An EXUP not fully opening could do it assuming you still have the EXUP system.
Do you have a prior-to-the-rebuild dyno graph? Compare the curves.

If he still had the EXUP he wouldn't have code 17.

So Code 17 says, "You're EXUP is missing." ? :D

I had no idea what the code meant. Ignore my thoughts. They spawn, erringly, in some alternate universe where I know everything and pass judgement. ;)
