Any of you own a Newmar motorhome? You REALLY need to watch this video:

 

Not just Newmar and not all Newmar as this impacts any motorhome on a Spartan Chassis. The Freightliner Newmar motorhomes do not have this issue. Also, this video is just one side of the story, and the jury is literally still out. Rule #1 is to make sure you have a really good import / export attorney do or review your paperwork if you are selling across the border. To the best of my knowledge, no owner taking their own rig across the border for personal use has had any issues and that happens frequently.

Personal guess: this all started with them lowballing the value of the MH on the paperwork in order to lower the import tariff. It might now end up with a lot of lawyers getting rich, border agents wasting a bunch of time crawling under MHs, Newmar and/or Spartan having to spend a bunch of time and money retroactively added vin tags, vin stamps, or maybe just cross hatched stickers that will actually come apart when peeled off.
