Watching these videos again today, it's just surreal. The end of an era.
You can see the emotion in Coker's face, he knows it's over. Tomac tried to not show it, but you know it's there too.
Such a simple, run of the mill moment for an SX course, just a freak timing of events and likely something popping on that boot.

That is the thing about that kind of chase. The cops don't need to win, they just need to finish second and wait for the leader to crash or run out of fuel. With that said, that was some pretty good 2-up skilz.

My father was in the 82nd in WWII and was a part of this in real life. "Those Devils In Baggy Pants," is what a German soldier called them. There's a book by that name about the 82nd and my dad is mentioned by name in it.
