around 1980'-85' i saw a movie about an american made road race bike. i think it even said american made on the tank... anybody... anybody i remember it being a cool movie but i was 12

Called "American Made" during shooting, released as "Race for Glory" Mike Baldwin was the stunt double for the bad guy (Schroeder? SP) in the movie, earned the nickname "Scrotum" from his peers.
For those doing reality checks, the movie was horrendous. Homemade bike tested on the street, they go off to Europe. After several setbacks up until midseason, the win the World Championship!
One pit board message in the movie: "Flush their toilets!"
Most outrageous scenes: Slow motion disaster sequences right out of CHIPs, using four-stroke bikes.

"Silver Dream Racer" is better.
