I think in looking at at things that the rule is weird. I think MM should have been allowed to restart because he crashed right about the time of the red flag, the other 3 yeah no

I really think it was the Ducati/front tire combination. The soft front worked in the sprint for them but was absolutely roached by the end so they had no choice but run the medium in the GP. Almost all the Ducati riders had problems getting their bike stopped and turned without tucking it.

    Agreed.

Marc's soft front after a 10 lap Sprint was SHREDDED. Zarcos looked similar but after 19 laps.

It reminded me of Aragon last year when everyone was literally on ice with no grip, they were all tip-toeing around the track, but this race it was just the Duc's.

Marc, Alex, Pecco - all crashed because of no feeling/grip on the front with the medium. Fermin blew at least 3-4 corner entries by having to let off the brake and lift the bike as to not crash so his race was one of survival as well - and Digi was floundering around in 12th place most of the race with the same issue.

REALLY happy for Bezz - love the guy and the Aprilia looked like it did at COTA last year - flickable and loads of grip. Just wish it wasn't a once a year occurrence.

Fabio - that dude needs some good luck for the universe to balance out the karma he's been given lately. Thankfully he can cry into his $12 mill/year bank account balance. :)

Moto2 was one of the best races in that class in a LONG time - so happy to see the 3 young guns going at it all race - can't wait to see how Alonso develops for the last 2/3 of the season. Joe also had by far his best race of the year - only 4.4 seconds off the winner and made steady progress after a "Gerloff-like" first 2 laps so finish in 8th I think.

As for GP - Pecco needs a miracle, Alex is much more of a long term threat to Marc this year - and overall it really is great to see Honda and Yamaha back in the mix.

    I
I think Franky was on the soft front but since he had to come from mid pack I'm guessing they got his tire to last by jacking up the pressure to follow.

Two race weekends in a row with tomfoolery happening where I have no idea what's going on, having to wait for yet another wacko rules explanation.

One of the announcers prolly got that ass chewed afterwards for their 'when the red flag waves, riders have 5 minutes to return to the pit with their bike or they have to commit to purchasing a full set of Cutco knives' comment that proved to be totally incorrect.

But who's fault was it they were on their "B" bikes?...

No argument here. I was trying to point out another reason why they both might have been a little tentative after the re-start.

Best race of the season in Moto2 and as the leaders dice for the win, the video feed blocks the 1st place bike with Jake Dixon's onboard camera for the last 10 laps.

Yea, apparently causing a red flag isn’t an issue regarding a restart but having the last name marquez is

Moto2. How about Gonzales taking himself out and almost taking our Barry Baltus, but instead Gonzales' bike taking Baltus out. Felt bad for the number 7. Stepping it up this year for sure.

To me a missed headline was haw many passes and battles Miller was involved in and neither he nor the folks he was battling against went down. Usually when he is battling that hard, he goes down. This time he just did his best and took what he could get.

As to the restart, they have advanced timing loops. Grid per the running order when the red flag comes out. Yeah, some riders may get lucky if they crash right after crossing the timing loop and then red comes out before the other riders get to the next timing loop. Still, it would be better than what they do now. Making a rule about "causing the red flag" is going to be very judgmental. Suppose you get torpedoed and your bike leaks oil on the track. Did you cause the red flag or the person that torpedoed you?

The pic i saw appeared to show his bike leaking oil before he crashed. Maybe the crash caused it...not sure there. Loose oil line?

    It’s not timing loop based.

red flag on first 3 laps and it’s a full grid restart if you can get you bike back to the pits in 5 minutes.
That’s how Alex was also able to start when he crashed I to T1 on lap 1 as he was 1.5 laps down at the time of the red flag.

If the Marquez Bros weren't the ones benefitting from the rule, there wouldn't be any talk about hot stupid the rule is. Haters are funny that way:D

I know what the rule is now. I think it sucks and should be fixed in the manner I specified.
