Simon Patterson poopoo’ing the race on twitter, meanwhile anyone who enjoys actual racing loved the race.

I thought the race was great today.

not sure why everyone is surprised by FQ, most people who can be the top motorcycle racer out of every breathing male on planet earth probably has a little fire and drive in them. Of course he is going to try to get back in the race.

I guess Brady was close to tossing in the towel and asking to send in his back up playing against the Falcons even though they had a 0.3% chance of winning.

Isn't he the journo Jack Miller shut down when he (Patterson) pestered Pecco about his DUI, during a press conference, few years back?

This race will go down as Most Confusing Race in History. Complete chaos, and I was loving every minute of it. Nobody had any idea what was going on.

Congrats to Castrol Honda and Zarco, what a ride from 17th place to the steady climb for the victory.

Good luck getting a reply from anyone in France tomorrow if you have any business dealings there. Shit, Tuesday will be a 1/4 day (they already work half days). I think Papa might even be hung over tomorrow and he doesn’t even drink. :D

National holiday (or just another strike) tomorrow! Zarco day, viva le France!

and in Germany someone highup in the military is planning to invade France but that’s everyday so. . . :D

Martin Lewis Can we go back to the track already?

The regulations stipulate the volume of the fuel tank, not just how much fuel the teams can put in it.

I know we tend to bag on the Frenchies but man, they were louder than the Spanish in Jerez. The roars, the groans, the singing in harmony. What a crowd!

When FQ went down, you heard the collective groan and moan. A couple laps later, they realized Zarco was in 1st and let it rip! You don’t find that shit here stateside.

i was planning on Phillip island this year in October, i might hold off and hit Le Mans next year. It looked awesome.

Zarco will probably have a test rider gig with HRC until he's 65 years old after Sunday's race. He has been the most impressive guy on a Honda by far this year.

He's totally made up for the whining he did at KTM imo.

congrats to Zarco. he played the lottery well and stayed on the bike. don't see him or the Honder as a top 6 finisher for the rest of the season.

as far as Martin goes, pulling the "not a championship contender/leader until LeMans" clause is plain stupid. it was him who crashed. and now he wants to go to Honda? just to start all over?

How is it stupid? Aprilia can't get a title sponsor to save their life and Bez has been sucking. Ogura is back to 15th with the luster worn off while Raul should be kicked off the bike permanently. Ducati made the right move with Martin barely beating Pecco of equal talent and now Alex is kicking his ass with Fermin on the way up. HRC making big strides and Aleix is Martin's BFF. Once a rider has lost confidence in his teams ability to be competitive, cut the cord and move on. Aprilia is fucked.

i am only doubting Honda's ability to be competitive as some seem to make out by JZ winning a chaotic wet race.

In fairness, Honda and Yamaha have both made progress forward and none of the Aprilia riders right now seem to be a top ten threat without the aid of attrition. This weeks race aside, Zarco has been sniffing the top 5 at times and Mir and Marini also are lurking around the top 10. Honda appears to be on the right path and Aprilia clearly is not based on results. On top of that, the bike has flicked Martin every which way off the thing. I can see him wanting to move on.

He lived on his coach/manager's couch from the time he was racing Red Bull Cup, if not earlier, until he was Moto 2 world champion.

I guess you weren't in Austin when Marquez crashed out of the lead for Rossi to take it, loudest thing Ive heard at a GP race.

I loved the race, all the chaos, the changing conditions, and especially the result. So happy for Zarco, his family, and all the French. It was such a pleasure to watch their absolute joy. And I didn't mind that Zarco was 20 seconds ahead at the end.

Why do fans tend to discount wins in the wet? Isn't making the right tire choice in changing conditions like Sunday just as meaningful as making the right compound choice in the dry? I don't know why we ascribe such a greater contribution of chance to the outcome of a wet race. IMO you have to be an even savvyer tactician and a more skilled rider to succeed in the wet.

    What makes you say that?

Discounting Mir (who has DNF'd most races) Zarco has been on an upward trajectory since the start of the season and Marini has be able to consistently finish in the top-10 all season. Why wouldn't they continue to move toward the top 5?
