First session Marc’s bike broke down. Missed half the session, puts it a 100th off the lap record in damp drying conditions. lol.

 

I remember reading the record would get shattered this weekend, because the track was repaved, since they were here last.

lol good call. I’m curious how practice goes but it’s raining now in moto2. Joe put in a banker at the beginning of the session so good for him.

 

To be fair though Martin was in the top 5 I think with 2 mins left then they pulled his lap so he is capable. Was probably a yellow flag or a green paint but…

Holy hell that is impressive pace from JM89 with so little time on the bike this year.

 

I swear when watching practice and looking at the live updates on the left side of the screen I was like 'who is JMar?' for at least 2 seconds then 'oh yeah, that guy.'

 

Mixed condition session and some dudes you'd expect to be higher up were lower than usual. Like the artist also known as Marquez in 9th. However, despite having to carry the ballast that is his narcissism, Martin is undeniably quick.
Finally, MM already ~0.5 seconds up on the field? Looks like it's gonna be another rinse repeat in the premier class. Mathematically MM could seize the title by Motegi if he keeps this up.

 

I just looked at the lap times. Is it fair to think a Ducati is bad in the rain? Seems usually 6 of the top 8 are Ducati and some people complain of a Ducati cup. Throw down a little water and only 1 in the top 8.

 

This track grips differently than any other track in the wet I bet.
