Hence my original post. If it doesn't really matter, why not mitigate the danger and wear & tear on the little bikes that is exacerbated by that big track far more than anywhere else and run the twins?
Because part of the deal with the talent cup is getting the kids and sponsor in front of large crowds, same reason they're running at VMD.
Superbike Supersport Stk 1000 Baggers Talent Cup BTR MotoA has their agenda but I would have been more interested in watching Twins than BTR at Road America. My 2 cents
Other things that complicate in the UK are the use of the fork...I sat there in wonder watching folks eat with the curved part up. I tried a couple times but that utensil is for eating not playing with your food
I can’t think of anywhere that I wouldn’t rather watch twins than BTR. Does anyone ever want to watch BTR? The podium at RA were 3 girls from my local club. They are more entertaining watching them club race, than racing BTR.
I have nothing against the riders and it's good advertising for RE but I find the commentary and comments during the races extremely patronising.
I sort of agree. I think that its a good deal all around. The bikes are just so boring. Its even worse watching them in person. They just don’t even sound like they are racing, everything about them just seems slow. You could put the top SS and SBK guys on them, and it would still be boring.
I think motoamerica is playing a dangerous game having a women's only league, but I digress. I agree, give them something better to ride. Hell, give them stock middleweights, that would be entertaining. (Not saying girls can't ride).
Sounds reasonable to me. RE is paying bigger money for their race to be run at Road America than the twins cup sponsor(idk who it is this year, sorry) was willing to pay.
Yeah, that's a MASSIVE jump. I get wanting to reel them in a bit... (shouldn't have been allowed in the first place, but money...) but that's massive. I'm curious if they were actually getting them down to min weight or is this going to be a smaller bump than it looks like on paper?
I will take the bait...I couldn’t see a certain young supersport rider (hint riding a Duc V2) in that field of BTR racers. A total waste of talent imo
From listening to the interviews with the girls that I know that are racing it, RE isn’t really looking for a whole lot of talent. They are looking for someone interested in bikes, that has a little bit of experience. They definitely aren’t looking for the fastest or the best.
It is obvious RE are not looking for talent by watching the race. The issue for me is MA is supposed to be providing entertainment and BTR is not entertaining.
