It was pretty close @ 1:23.904 (.265) but the rain spoiled the fun. The story of Spies getting the pole that weekend in 2008 still has me wondering how he did it. Dude just had appendicitis. Tough as nails he was.
Different times I guess… I raced at MO from 97-2012 and not once raced in or was delayed much for rain… I did wad a new 02 750 into the guardrail after cresting the rise into thunder valley and rain only in the other side… short delay right back at it… once I raced at RA the same timeframe 97-12 and never once was there not at least one session on rains…

Doesn’t barber have one and that’s where the mannequin fell onto a hot track? In reality, you have to have bridges to allow spectators access to the whole track. And the guys cooler was leaking, he didn’t dump it on purpose.
They all have one… he might have spilled it or it an accident but no cooler “leak” is going to make us crash in 95 degree heat from 15’ above the track… it’s not like he was sitting up there
Maybe I should have said "who was the idiot that thought carrying coolers full of ice, water and beer on a bridge over a hot track was a good idea"
At the start of junior cup race 2, I noticed a couple of kids leaning their bikes way over to the right while waiting for the lights/flag. Any known reason for this?
That was my first thought but they stand up the bikes just before the start. It seems they can keep them upright.
Its gotta be wittle legs, not wanting to keep legs extended that long? Short legged guys use milk crates for harescramble starts
Possibly trying to make sure clutch plates are lubricated with engine oil before the start to keep them operating smooth and not grabby. Some stock clutch/stock wheelbase drag bikes do that.
