Possibly unpopular hot take but here it is- she's not though, Jamie "is everyone having a good time" keeps making terrible calls like announcing when Bryce went off in turn 1 after the flag and saying that would move Nolan up a spot.. Roger keeps correcting her and this morning she said Kayla "led alot of the sessions this weekend" and her best session finish was 4th and qualified 10th. If MA is going to be the professional organization they want to be they need better announcers. even greg white is doing a better job now but having Roger and Jamie call the shots on supersport is a huge miss. This class should be treated as a premier class but it's treated like a step kid with half the top 10 being former SBK riders. Also GW has really improved and it's hard to fault him, he raced at that level and knows what he's looking at. Jamie is constantly one "um" away from asking Roger his take.
Max Gerardo is impressive. Would love to see Cam B rock n roll today like he did at the start of race 1. .. and Kayla. Wow. Flying.
From the camera angle on the livestream I thought the exact same thing about the Prince runoff until RLH mentioned it occurred after Start/Finish. So she was wrong a few times, but it wasn’t nearly as egregious or annoying as someone like Robbie Floyd. Even the MotoGP and WSBK broadcasters get it wrong sometimes. There was a lot of dead air time yesterday during the rain delay and Jamie does a good job of keeping information flowing. Is she perfect, no, is she better than what MotoAmerica had in the past, yes. I think Jamie and Greg White both do a good job and add to the broadcast instead of subtracting from it, like we had in the past.
I can’t see where qualifying for, and competing in, an AMA professional road race is ever a joke. That aside, I like the pair of Greg and Jason announcing the races, you may not, that’s okay too. Sure the “2 time AMA champion” thing is a little bit repetitive, but at the end of the day, Jason Pridemore and his Dad are both a huge part of American road racing history.
What a SB race #2 !! SDK takes 2nd but sure woulda been nice to see that last corner pass.. but no. Ma shows the leader 4 seconds up the road.
I watch MA highlight shows because the commentating is still so mediocre I can't sit through an entire race. They manage to suck all the excitement out of it. Everytime. Who the fk is this Gerardo dude and where'd he come from all of a sudden?! That Suzuki needs some sponsor stickers. Fast dude.
They indicated he is very small and light. I think they have done a good job equalizing the bikes. Certainly a mix of bikes up front.
The old R6 looking pretty impressive. I do not know any details, but how superbike-ey are they allowing the 600s?
I can’t say for certain, but I think the R6 is pretty open with the rules. The bigger CC bikes are dialed back to varying degrees. Davis is running an Evan Bros. R6 engine. Wonder if it is full WSSP spec?
They’re allowed head work, so kind of like they use to be when Garrett and JD were on them and they were hot rodded some. Hate it for Matt about Westby, but looks great on a R6. Ed Sullivan coming with him has to help a lot to get him up to speed quickly, not only is Ed incredibly smart and seasoned, but their working relationship history.
They are equalized but they have more torque. Same with those Ducks. No replacement for displacement imo
SDK reminding me that even a not good Moto2 rider is still a very, very good motorcycle racer. Just shows you how hard that series is.
