Riders at all levels make mistakes, shit happens, stop your whining . I have no idea if he did or did not take you out, but so what? That's racing, shit happens and we all go on and get over it. I really think it is ridicules that you think he doesn't deserve his sponsor because you two tangled.

He absolutely deserves whatever deal he can work out with any sponsor, whether he deserves it or not is between him and his sponsor. He deserves it because he made it happen.

Anybody who whines and bitches about another racer's sponsorship , will never take the next step because they are not focused on themselves and what they are doing, instead they are wasting time and attention on what the other guy has.

His only superbike win was at Mid Ohio.

I remember Dale.....he was the roughest guy I ever saw. How many racers could Dale knock off the track. I wonder if he is doing the same in nascrap.

 

Dale came out of that NE/ Loudon old school method of racing.

He was clean with me.

Others were a lot rougher. Some still racing the AMA today.

Dale was and is a good guy.

 

Mid-Ohio 1993. Finished second in the points that year behind Polen.

Everyone in this sport has probably been taken down by someone else once (or 3 times, in the same turn, as me). And everyone in this sport has probably caused someone to crash or taken out someone (I took out 8 in turn 1 at summit point, and I can admit it).

A rider and his/her mistakes does not relate to the "set up" he gets. Seeing that you are racing at Mid-O and I am not, maybe you will feel that I don't really have the credential to tell you this but:

no one "deserves" any sponsorship or "set up".

You, or the 10 privateers you have in mind Have not, did not, would not, could not have gotten to know MJ, befriend him, helped him with his riding, have him like you, have him understand and support you, come up with an idea to organize a gig to go racing, present it to the right person the right way, and convince everyone that it is a good idea.

Until someone does the exact same thing, I must say that ONLY TEZ could have done this. So he DESERVES WHAT HE HAS.

You could not do it, I could not do it, no one else could do it. Because we all have not. All else is speculation. The fact is that he got himself that ride, and he deserves it.

Its like someone won the lottery and you get jealous thinking "someone else deserves it more" well guess what: they wouldn't, couldn't and DIDN'T get it.

Getting the corporate world to see that sponsoring Roadracing can be good advertising is great. Getting the MJ/Nike fans to notice roadracing is even better.

And once again, for the 100th time in my life, I have to tell someone:

sponsors don't sponsor you because you can ride well. They sponsor you because you can do something for them, or their business. And that is NOT to win races. As if you don't know.

everyone hates popup's right? why do companies still, after all these years, pay to have their ads on popups?????? go ponder about that one.

Advertising isn't always about doing well in the game.

I still have his broken front fairing mount from when him and Ski mixed it up in turn 6 at Road Atlanta in....hrmmm....1993? 1994?...Probably one of the coolest souvenirs I've ever gotten from a race weekend...regardless if I can remember the race or not

He was super nice considering he just got thrown down the road
