I think I posted this before but cant remember IDK I'd like to drive my low roof Metris down to SoCal in April and park it somewhere for an indefinite period of time... could be years. Must be indoors and secure. I know storage is more expensive than in Montana but I would like to find something for $150 per month. I only need to access it a few times a year. It would be great if there was space for me to do an oil change on the Kramer or my 2 supermotos. The general idea is that I would grab the van and be gone for a week or so, then park it and fly out. Needs to be within 30 minute drive of LAX, SNA or ONT airports since I'll be flying in from Montana and Ubering to the storage. There are a bunch of SoCal guys here, so I thought this would be a good way to get the word out! Comments about what a cheap f$%ck I am will not be welcomed
I pay $120/mo for a 30' storage unit in the Missouri boonies, I'm thinking SoCal will be a fair bit more than that! Oh yeah, get off your wallet ya tight ass!
I'm in El Segundo, couple miles from LAX, the local outdoor 'secure' storage close to me is $535/month.
I’m paying $125/month for a 4x4 in Costa Mesa. Which will be gonna next month and I can’t wait to get rid of that damn thing. Best of luck with $150/month for anything indoor that isn’t private and someone just doing you a favor.
Seems to me a more fiscally sound decision would be to sell the Metris and rent a van when you come to town.
Newport Beach area has several high end exotic car indoor storage facilities for $400-$500 per month per car, so that makes no sense.
One of the benefits of living close to the boonies, I’ve been storing my old truck indoors for years at $25/month. It’s the only check I write and I love doing it once a year and getting the same stupid rate.
That's crazy cheap. I have 7 cars and 20 motorcycles stored in a large heated new warehouse about 2 miles from my shack in Montana. $500 a month for everything. (Cars are $60 per month each). I don't understand why storage is so expensive in SoCal. I can understand double, but 3X or 4X makes no sense to me. Montana is pretty spendy these days... not easy finding a decent house for less than $700K. I should add... I lived in SoCal for 35 years and usually had RV/Trailer storage in the south OC area. Didn't seem unreasonable to me back then. The place has gone full retard lately.
Your cars have been found to cause cancer by the state of Kalifornistan, so you have to pay 5X to cover the taxes on that hazardous storage.
