Probably hard to find a Tac in stock, but there may be a chance of a CTR on the shelf somewhere. There are SS and regular blued versions of the CTR also.

Just saw a savage precision on the shelf with a scope not sure what brand for 1500.

Savages are decent guns. I would never own one for a match rifle, as they are far from smooth, but they are good hunting guns(I have 2).
It would need to have a decent($600-$700) scope on it to be worth $1500, IMO.

Check out River Bend Gun Club if you are seriously moving here. I think they go out to 600 yds.

I'd say also look at Sako - Tikka's parent -- if you have the money and want a touch better action. Having said that, the trigger on Tikka's break like glass. Sooooooo smoove.

I have only worked on TRG22's, but I wouldn't take one over a Tikka. They don't feed or eject as well as a Tikka. I believe it is due to the location of the ejector.

I’m getting .5 moa at 300 yards with a Ruger precision rifle using Hornady match Factory ammo. Awesome platform. In the hands of a better shooter I'm sure it can beat that.

Finally got to do some testing on the smokeless today. H4198 gets a little spikey @75gr, but works well @72.5gr. Imr4198 worked well @75gr, but is slower and I only had 2 charges loaded up. 20210829_144124~2.jpg 20210829_150025.jpg

    $1000. It's a heavy rifle.

Just throwing this out here in case there is any interest, I've got a Magnetospeed v3 chronograph and Wiser mount I want to sell. Its never been used, I started setup and decided I wanted to go a different route as I would be switching rifles between precision rifles, sporters and 1874 Sharps replicas using black power cartridges. I think I paid $124.99 for the wiser mount and $379.99 for the chrono. Reasonable offers seriously considered.

Looking at the Tikka tx3 tac in 308. They make it in 20"&24" barrels. I plan on putting a can on it. Will 24" with the can be too long?

That all depends on what you plan on using it for. The 308 in a 20" barrel will lose quite a bit of velocity, so I would get a 24", and you can always have it shortened and re-thread if you don't like it.
