No that was from the track day with STT in July (I think) when I was on her DRZ400sm for like two sessions. Yeah a lot of the dirt tracks around don't even have people flagging on practices, so if someone wades up it's normal to make sure no one else jumps and gets hurt. Mainly I was stopping to make sure she stays down and doesn't take off her helmet.
Be nice now Todd. I guess I used poor judgement in how I worded my original post without thinking that it was the rider stopping at fault and not a provider rule being broken. My bad. But watching the video had my eyes telling me one thing brain thinking another. Being it was an STT event I know without a doubt the rider was told not to stop on track for anything. Just goes to show not everyone in the riders meetings are paying attention no matter what trackday provider they are using. I meant nothing negative toward X-ACT.
here is a video from Sunday I Group that some people here asked to see..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYneB0jvDec
LOL yep I remember you. I was the control rider that came up to you and asked if you wanted to bump up cuz you where lapping the field. LOL You told me this was ur first time at the track and that you usually ride A at all the other events. You looked good out there.
Thanks. I was on there right at the first for about 1/4 lap. There were some other times that I stayed with you longer, if the camera was running. If you've got more, I'd love to see them.
cannot see them at work...anybody see a silver/white GSXR 750 matching leather and Shoei helmet behind this fella??
If it was there, he went by so fast...geez... Anyway, Lori Sporaccio is posting Intermediate pictures. What I see so far are Intermediate from Saturday, but she is actively loading them. http://lori11.smugmug.com/TGPR-October-16-17-2010/I-group/14252304_MNSNw#1053520543_g5ryX
Awesome vid, must see for everyone! Does she still ride? Oh, have her doctor call my doctor... I want whatever he was giving her, lol
which was exactly the point i was trying to make, Roy. Its all good man. Dude, i miss racing with you, we had some GREAT battles back in the day. I still remember that one race, we both jumped the start (you jumped, i went with the experts by mistake), both came in for our meatballs, and I still wound up winning the race with you in second. I think i slid the rear tire from pit in allllllllllll the way to pit out where Chuck was standing in the middle of pit lane, and i thought i wasnt gonna get stopped and hit him. Good times for sure. Oh yea, and be rest assured, "not stopping on track to help ANYONE" is always told at the riders meeting, more than once i might add.
Great time It was nice to meet some of you on saturday. It was my first time to attend one of Pete's events and I plan to do em all next season. local ones that is. I had alot of fun and still a bit sketchy on the bike after my recent highside at the Nashville under the lights trackday. I am finding the fear level was high but after a couple sessions it slowly was starting to diminish. Anyway I hope to meet more of you and any tip's on how to get back at it please let me know.
Yes she still rides... in the part where David is following me we pass her for a second and it said something about the coolest chick ever. (I was brown nosing... she was sitting next to me while editing it.) and the Dr. gave her nothing! Thats how bad her concussion was. 2.5 days I dealt with that. lol
Yea those were fun times back then Todd. I need to come to some track events you go to but unfortunately they always seem to fall on a weekend I want to go street riding or have other priorities. I still do about 10 weekends a year with trackdays so I still know how to ride I am planning on making the Ed Bargy weekend after Thanksgiving. Trying to get the wife's work schedule straightened out right now so we can be there. So maybe I'll see ya there
Not only were we told NOT to stop but Todd even emphasized the point of not to look at the rider! because you will be right beside him.
Roy, tday weekend has been cancelled. Just too big of a risk of bad weather combined with it being a "family" holiday of not getting enuff participants to at least pay the bills.
