scathed.. unscathed.. i think the point he was making was that the right tool is required to do each discipline, but regardless of the tool, a fraction of a percentage of those competing will finish at the pointy end of each discipline. interestingly, a rare few can compete in hard enduro, and do well, on very dated equipment, if said tool is in good mechanical shape to begin with. Even with the best hard enduro bike on the planet, most of us could never complete a lap of hard enduro.
Any KTM experts know if a slip on from the 790/890 ADV bikes will also be the direct bolt onto the SMT? If so I’ll look for a mi Ty used unit vs the $1300 Akra.
Whats funny is it's been the go to since at least the late 90s - even for racers I know who worked in multi line Japanese dealerships
there’s so much more to it than that. Drilled mousses, triple rim locks, super soft suspension, custom clutch work, etc.
Whenever you move east, make sure you make the trip to SE Tennessee one year to the TTC's TN. Knockout Hard Enduro Championship round. It's both a World and US Championship event. Best of the best! They do a Prologue event down Broadway Street in Nashville Thursday evening that is pretty cool to see also. I made it to both this past year, after last attending a World Trials Championship round there about 18 years ago. https://tennesseeknockoutenduro.com/ Yes he did. Made it look like a piece of cake when he was riding it.
Has anyone here successfully bought Pierer Mobility AG stock? After talking with Barry Higgins yesterday, I attempted to buy some this morning at $14.xx something. Can’t buy at that price, and not easy to buy. Cannot figure out how to buy it online at its higher listed price of $27.85.
Do you think it's hit bottom? Did some new news come out of EICMA? Maybe I'm too conservative, but I'd wait to see how the next few weeks goes after revising forecasts and losing board members. -T
PKTM.SM CLOSED AT 11.50 PKTM.VI CLOSED AT 12.50 Im not sure of the difference between these symbols, probably VI is the Vienna market and SM is another market it traded in possibly Nasdaq? Notice the bid, what they will pay you, is $11.XX and the ask, what you have to pay, is $15.xx. Normally the spread is only a few cents, not $4 dollars. I presume because it is so volatile they’re expecting demand to be way up on Monday morning? You probably can't buy now because the markets aren’t really open, although I think some places like Robinhood make their own market 24/7.
CF Moto will own KTM in the near future. I think they already own over 50% of the stock. Don't know if that is a good or bad thing. CF Moto seems to have their shit together. That being said there are some good deals to be had right now. Just picked up a 2024 KTM 500 EXC-F for 8,699 plus tax and title.
CF Moto has a 51% ownership stake in the joint venture company that it founded in partnership with KTM in 2017 (warning: that link is pop-up hell). However, they only have a 2% stake in the parent company PIERER Mobility AG (KTM). Having said that, PMG's market cap is ~$400M and CFMoto's is ~$3B. A buy out isn't unpossible.
Well that’s a change of pace. Acquiring intellectual property through capitalism instead of theft. Who knew?
Now that sounds like something I should do. How much more do you need to spend on electronics, suspension, etc. to make it work right? I hear the new fuel injected bikes don't throttle well, until update Me too!!
Growth by acquisition is a very strong business strategy. On a much smaller scale that is what I'm trying to do myself. I'm chasing a couple different companies that are larger than me, doesn't matter if I can get a loan and show some level of competence.
You have false information, Rob. I demo'ed all of the single cylinder KTM's at Daytona this March. I can tell you the pluses and minuses of them all. Too much at MSRP though, back then. I bought a 2024 Husky FE 350s in June for $4,600 less than MSRP. Almost 1,000 miles of 85% dirt later, I'm refining the suspension still, even though it comes with great and newer suspenders. I've only installed a stiffer rear spring so far. (Race Tech.) The motor and FI is so fantastic out of the box, I have absolutely no intentions of touching a thing. I don't want to screw up this amazingly smooth power delivery. I just bought a second set of wheels and mounted up a set of Dunlop 606's, for a dirt only ride. I was grinning every time I rode it! Even though I'm big, I need to either remove some oil from the forks, or install some softer springs. Fyi, Husky's with linkage sit about an inch lower than the KTM's. Look at Gas Gas bikes also when price shopping.
