I've had one of these for the past 20 years of track duty, but they're NLA and the last one fell victim to my 2.7 EB turbos kicking in and ejecting it out the back of my pickup at LAX (along with a thousand bucks of tools). Is there anything else equivalent available? I don't want a metal toolbox, no matter how lightweight, bashing into my stuff. Need the 2-3 drawers too.
Was it like Japan and all traffic stopped and everyone picked up every tool and brought them to you? How you getting $1k of tools in that thing? Specialty shit or machining or calibrating tools? they make these things that hold motorcycles down that you can use to secure tool boxes too… and that tail gate closes I’m pretty sure Alright it was the toolbox or MM but had to harass you about something
The answer is always crew cab diesel 4x4 dually with a lift kit and monster mudders: https://www.harborfreight.com/tool-...triple-bank-top-chest-series-3-red-58708.html
https://www.beta-tools.com/en/products/containers-and-assortments/trolleys.html They also have some fabric ones, https://www.beta-tools.com/en/products/containers-and-assortments/tool-chests-bags-and-cases.html
I know you said you don't want metal, but I bought a metal version of that, exact layout, and it works great for me and was under $50.
I used to by a set of race tires for $200, and gas for 50 cents a gallon. You're officially old enough to be the old man on the porch, going "I remember when...."
I would strongly consider the Milwaukee system with it's mounts that hold it in place. They're pretty sweet. Buddy mounted one on his side by side. There's other companies making shit that hook to the mounts now also.
Craftsman has a "Versa-stack" system they sell through Ace Hdwe and there are other versions at Amazon and Wallyworld
This is a straight-up copy of that Craftsman box. $80. https://www.amazon.com/Duratool-Plastic-Three-Slide-Latches/dp/B06XDL4PZ7
