Heading to WNC from MI via Knoxville. Google Maps shows US 129 closed, but when I dig into it, it appears that it's closed to large commercial vehicles (as it should be). So, that makes me wonder if it's still passable via regular vehicles. Understand Hwy 441 is an option, but I would think it would be seriously crammed with traffic. Thoughts?
The Dargon is open. Rode up from Maryville on Monday morning. Keep an eye out for the highway patrol on TN side. They’ve been hanging out up by the lake to turn around commercial traffic, but do drive up to state line a few times during the course of the day.
DO yourself a favor and ride on down into N. GA...plenty of great roads without most of the internet idiots showing up and clogging things up. As with either areas....plan on riding mid-week for best riding as most will be at work and you don't have as much tourist traffic coming or going either. Go explore...many hidden gems besides the internet hot spots.
NO there is NOT... Not a single good road here to ride..they all suck. We Have NOT The Roads He is Looking For.
