What a bummer. He was a good kid. I had the opportunity of pitting with Kramer Joe for a CRA round a few years ago, and was able to spend a good amount of time with those guys for the weekend. Its always such a loss for everyone in the paddock.

Damn. I didn't realize till I saw the picture who he was. I chatted him up at Mid-O. Super nice, knowledgeable kid.

Still in shock over this. Glad we got to spend time with Ross this summer.

I met Ross at the '23 Barber Vintage Festival. We were both there to race our Kramer 690s. Easily old enough to be his grandfather, he wasn't sure what to make of me. I can't exactly say that I raced against him, since he was 3 seconds a lap faster than me, but I enjoyed chatting with him, and I'm saddened to learn of his passing.

How am I just now learning that Kramer is making a kit to turn the superduke into a proper race bike?!?!? Holy crap do I want one!!!!!

I expect that you'll see them in the USA around the start of 2026.

@cota.kitty, can you please clarify what the suspension modification rules are, as you understand them?
I had thought they were open to unlimited modifications as long as they remained conventional style exterior suspension components.

I saw MA was 'inspecting' all of the TC Kramer shocks today at Cota.

I know I asked about this in some thread before but damn if I can find it now...
If I were to procure a 690 Duke, what years would be good as a parts source for a '19 EVO2S? Mainly focused on a spare motor- would a '12 and up Duke motor bolt up and work? Even if there's a power deficit it could be worth having as a core to do a build on. The last thing I need is another bike in the garage, but used 690 motors are not plentiful and about as expensive as just buying a whole running bike. There's a very nice '14 with 2500 miles for $3000 mere minutes from me...

I believe the 2017+ Huskys got the second counterbalancer and the 2019+ KTMs got the second counterbalancer.

I'm not sure what other differences you'd find in a 2014 vs your 2019, but there wouldn't be a ton.

Thanks. For roadracing purposes would the counterbalancer or lack thereof make a big difference?

That depends on how much vibration matters to you. Is applying thread-locking liquid and using a torque wrench something you are use to doing on a regular basis?
    I'm very happy with my 2024 701.
