Springfield released their version of the Staccato CS aka the Prodigy Compact today. Decent looking piece. I think the MSRP is about $1500

You are too right. If I could go out and buy a brand new Marlin model 60 I would do it tomorrow. I messed up the trigger in the one I got when I was ten. I have a 10/22. It isn't half as good.

As another option, I’m getting a Meta VR headset then one of these:

Been thinking about it for a while…decided to go for it. Looks like fun and great match training.

I’ve thought I’ve bought the perfect rifle several times but I think I finally did it. I didn’t realize Kenzie optics was in Georgia and I walked in there and had been eyeing this rifle online but when I saw it in real life I couldn’t put it down.

Christensen 18” 6.5 prc. Short carbon barrel with some knock down power to even out the short barrel. Light enough to carry all morning long stalking around. Nothing i hunt in AL has required more than my 12.5” 556 but this just feels like it’ll be a hammer without being a 300 win mag

point, shoot, dead into next year

I have it. Definitely worth the $. I have shot 28,000 rounds with it already. I am at the point with it now where improving my performances on each stage requires a lot of attention and focus. This does a good job of helping me work on preparing my mindset for matches. I really like the weekly series challenges which are 4 stages you shoot once each. Does a great job of simulating a match.

The one caveat I would give is that much like dry-fire it is easy to get complacent about your grip. You should be tired after about 20 minutes in the sim.

That shit would stop instantly if The Man started hammering people with 10 years/violation. But no, fatherless kids or summat …

Another new version of the Canik MC9 came out at Shot Show....
There was the original MC9, then MC9L and MC9LS and now the MC9 PRIME.

Basically a MC9L or LS with ported barrel/built in compensator? and it has the RIVAL trigger in it. And for those of you that have the RIVAL, know it's not far from a 1911/2011 trigger.

Man, i don't think I would want the hair trigger for edc. The gun definitely sparks my interest tho....$650

I’ve had a Rival. It’s a damned good striker fire trigger. But it’s not a “hair trigger”. Maybe a 4 pound pull.

I’ve got a gauge now and my Staccato XC Infinity trigger is 2.5. My Atlas is 3.5. Both are as light as I’d wanna go for a match pistol. They’re too light for my comfort zone to carry. My EDCs are about 5 pound pulls.

With my limited experienced, to me, the Rival is a hair trigger compared to my other guns.

Using my Lyman trigger gauge, I just pulled 2.9, 3.1, 3.1, 3.1 and 3.0 on my Rival.

Just used my Wheeler digital, 5 pulls, 2.96 average.

    EDIT:

    MC9
    Lyman gauge
    3.9
    3.4
    3.3
    3.5
    3.7

    Wheeler digital
    3 lb 14.2

You won't regret it. I have already seen improvements in my shooting during matches since getting Ace.

The Batman game that comes with it is pretty cool too. After getting all amped up shooting stages in Ace, I will often unwind with some chill Walkabout Mini golf too.

Just finished a Pistol Caliber Carbine indoor match at my indoor range. This was their second PCC match ever and the first at their new larger indoor “warehouse” range. It’s absolutely huge.

Update for those of you that responded to my question about the Mantis products.... So, I've now had my Laser Academy system for one week now and I've been busy with it. So far, not counting what I will be shooting today, I've fired 1029 shots with it and I'm seeing some much needed improvement personally. I'm still not what I would consider a good shot with a pistol, but improvement is happening AND I'm having some fun while doing it. I keep going back to the Modern Samurai Project (Scott Jedlinski's videos) and watching and rewatching some of them.....he is an invaluable resource and THANK YOU to whoever recommended to me to watch his stuff.

On a side note, I'll be taking my pistol next Wednesday over to Galloway Precision in Fletcher, NC to get a different trigger and the Performance spring kit installed. I've worked hard this past week on trigger pull and being smooth, and will continue to work on that, but having a shorter pull and a bit less trigger pull weight can only help with smooth trigger pulls and keeping the dot on target. So anyway, that's about it and I'll wrap it up for now.
