All I'll say is if that's the gun of your choice then TRAIN with it. Every tactical course in the world that uses rifles, with a safety, (AR15) practices using that safety. You don't have to shoot it to train with it. Dry fire is every bit as important, if not more important, than live fire. If that's a problem, then make it a safe queen.

Absolutely agree. I think it’s funny, actually it’s stupid, when people have a full size gun for the range then when they leave they clip something completely different and half the size to their belt. I’d say at least 90% of my ammo on range days goes through the gun I carry everyday.

I didn't have to stop by the LGS, but I had a few minutes to spare and this monster came home with me! IMG_8780.jpeg IMG_8782.jpeg

Lord, what purpose could that thing serve other than pure abuse to yourself??? I have the full sized version and I simply can't fathom shooting it without the extra weight and built in brake. Plus the fire show... That's like those people that build a 7" AR.

Although the model I had was heavier I’ve handled that one and it’s not light. Plus it’s three different rounds in one, nothing clears the pistol firing line like a 460 or 500 S&W.

Thinking it would be a more effective backpack piece when we go hiking or dirt riding in the stix. Until now I’ve always brought along a .357, but bigger is betterer amirite?

Do you have any particular attachment to this one? If funds are a concern for a new one, I’d consider selling or trading it. As a general rule, I don’t like selling guns but sometimes it just makes no sense to keep them. Couple of instances that come to mind were my beretta 1301 and FNS-9C. Bought a benelli M4 and after one day at the range I knew I’d never get the 1301 out of the safe again. Bought the FNS-9C for a smaller summer carry gun and caught myself finding every excuse not to take it to the range and to still carry my “winter” gun instead because I just didn’t like the 9C. So both got sold.

You’d be hard pressed to find a gun you can’t sell or trade easily in this market. I’d just consider doing that and upgrading to something that suits you better. Or if you’re absolutely against selling and have the funds, just go buy something else and relegate your old gun to a safe Queen.

I was thinking about a PCC to play with, Having owned a MPA bolt action the relatively new to the market MPA AR9 PCC was interesting but it was a hard no at $1499.00. Then while on gunbroker I saw one listed for $999.00 from Reeds Sports, looking on their site they showed them as sold out so I called them. Got it doe the one black one they had for the gunbroker asking and $19.00 shipping and no sales tax. 2nd or 3rd gun I've bought from Reeds, good people.
I have right knee replacement surgery tomorrow, hoping to test this out at the range a month later.

It’s a Ruger American compact that my dad gave me otherwise it would be gone. If it doesn’t work for me I don’t really see a reason to hang on to it. I went to the range yesterday and really tried to give it some reps but it’s just not a fit for me when doing any remotely real world shooting.

A friend brought a Canik Mete Sfx and a P320. I liked the Canik a lot but it has the same shape/bulk that I don’t like on the Ruger. The 320 felt like it was made for my hand and I think I see one in my future…good grief there are eleventy billion options though.

Help me decide…….762x39. I finally have an AK and love this thing. I don’t want one piece for this pile of ammo so trying to decide on a caliber backup. A 2nd AK would be cool……,but don’t want to overlook other pieces. Mini30 would be at the top of my list, but f*ck those have gotten expensive. SKS harkens back to my mispent youth but they seem hit or miss between cost:beat the f*ck up ratio. I already have a stripped lower coming tomorrow that was just for a funny conversation piece, but thinking I might just go ahead and do it up as a 762x39 AR. Whatchall got??

    Which AK did you get
I wouldn’t by another gun just to have something to shoot 7.62x39 out of especially since you love the AK.
I have shot a few SKS but it’s nothing compared to the AK.

Do you love the caliber or the AK platform itself? If you love the platform then getting another AK is a no brainer. Otherwise I suggest an AR in 7.62x39.

Yes, and maybe we can settle this AK vs AR nonsense once and forever.
Or will this be a case of the Beeb solving things only never in a while?

Ended up giving the PSA ak104 a try. Damn fun gun and went through a good bit of ammo and various kinds, quickly and reliably. We almost went for the mini Draco, but opted for this instead. I’m really liking it.

After giving it some thought…….a spare AK would be awesome:rock: ………so I’ll probably just do both anyways :D

You may want to wait on the spare until we see where the ATF lands on the whole brace issue. If we end up having them go SBR length is very close because of MD’s 29” minimum
I have the standard draco and I know it’s close but it’s at the back of the safe so I’ll wait until the ATF ink is dry before I sweat it
