My wife went through that discourse and found it to have almost enough well documented data and conclusive results to submit it as a paper. When we go fact based and put our political opinions aside we can do anything!
Brazil is actually a place where my guard is up, but spent the last 20 years in around 70 Countries, 3/4 considered 1/3 world, never been robbed at gunpoint. Got my clothes and wallet stolen while skinny dipping with hooker/ hustlers in Trinidad, but young and dumb
We have a local cyclist who is very well regarded on a national level, who is from Trinidad and Tobago. He's won the national cycling championship there multiple times. That's my experience with the county. He's a great guy, and he's never said anything bad about the country, and travels there often. So, what's the situation like for us 'mercans there? Just curious.
The beebs rarely fails to deliver - everything from outrageous tales to the widely varied expertise of the participants. As crazy as it sounds, I'm more likely to seek experience-based information from here than from anywhere else.
Google says the average wage in Iran is $1500……a year. Also, did you consider how much of that tree fiddy is from oil sales and is massive profit. How much of their weaponry comes from eastern bloc and is cheap? And just like the Korea that is more northerly, the peeps in charge would rather spend all “their “ money on guns and nukes than making the place better for the people.
1500 is relative. They're all wearing Nikes and driving Cadillacs while talking on their cell phones. However I heard Pagers have recently gone out of fashion.
Pretty easy to get fake Nikes in that part of the world. And those Cadillacs look a lot like old Peugeots in any footage I see of Tehran.
Trinidad and Tobago had been under a State of Emergency (SoE) since December 30, 2024 due to ongoing criminal activity. Mostly gang violence leading to a sharp increase in murders. They lifted the SoE in late April I think. I found out about because I was recruited to do an executive protection detail there. I was like how bad can it be… Did a little research and the place is a pretty big mess. During the SoE they basically instituted “Marshall Law”. Bail was suspended. You could be logged in jail without even being charged. Police didn’t need any type of court authorization to search public and private property, etc , etc. Just all adds up to not a smart place to visit at this point. Plenty of other options IMO.
If 1500 a yr can get me in a G Wagon over there, I'm on the next flight out! Hold up.......my Delta Airlines app isn't showing me any flights available to Tehran?
I've never, ever seen it presented that way. It somehow makes way more sense and none at all at the same time.
A family friend who is enlisted Air Force told us about a month ago that he would be deploying "somewhere" on or about June 15th. He didn't know where. He still can't tell us where, but he did say, "just watch the gnuz, not hard to figure out". Odd that his deployment was in the works three weeks before the conflict got hot. Makes you feel like grabbing a tinfoil hat.
Well, 21 days < 60 days, so even Miss Cleo could logic her way through that one. Someone call Shirley MacLaine and set up the meeting.
Yerevan is capital of Armenia. They started investing heavily in their mining business as well as tourism. Good returns on investment has then driven larger investments. It’s been booming and popping since but only in the capital. Once you leave it it’s all back to 80s infrastructure. Girlfriend is Armenian descent. “new money” tends to buy dumb flashy “look at my wealth” type things. Hence all the flashy cars.
