Three races theyre still fighting the settings on the new bikes. Mid season theyre at each others throats
Ugh. This just really bums me out. Marc’s quality as a rider is undeniable… I just don’t want to see him on a factory Ducati. And I don’t want to see drama between him and Pecco.
Honeymoon? Pretty sure these two aren’t exactly besties already. I’m ok with a healthy rivalry, can’t wait to see how ‘25 plays out on track.
You've missed the news of different sponsors and livery, I am guessing? Separate haulers will be a given.
I think it was turn 4 at the second race of ‘24 wherein they got in each other’s way. So, it’s already gone down, they just have to work together long enough to beat Gee-yorg.
You give it that far? I'm thinking Marc will be sucking Pecco's tailpipe when they leave for first practice. And will be his hemirrhoid from then on.
Pecco is quickly becoming the anti-Rossi to other riders, and Marquez once his helmet is off seems to be a lot more chill. I think the biggest issue will be how well MM93 gels with yet another crew chief
+1 to this! It takes a fair bit more effort to beat a teammate who's already worked successfully with a crew and team to win championships.
Great point. Personally, I don't think the wall will ever be a thing. For two reasons: 1) Pecco's personality seems to be the upfront, above board, sporting approach and 2) Marc wouldn't allow it because it would be a tacit admission that there's some level of insecurity. The hill(s) that I see Marc having to climb are: 1) The team: I assume that the loyalty to Pecco radiates throughout Ducati. Not just his immediate team and crew chief. He ended their WC draught, is a respectable dude, Italian, and a product of Rossi's tutelage (whatever you may think of Rossi he's still an icon and Italian treasure), 2) The Italian media and fans: Rossi is still an icon of motorsport and even though it's been nearly 10 years, sentiment is not buoyant about Marc.
The one guy who matters would adopt Marc if he could. The crew chief will be in love soon enough too. The rest will fall in line.
