Punch Drunk Love....I think he did great in a regular, character movie. But most people hated that movie.
You know, going into an Adam Sandler movie, you are not going to get Shakespeare quality writing or acting. It's going to be goofy, with penis and fart jokes and it will be padded out to last 90-120 mins. In this case, it was a venue to bring back almost the entire initial cast, and if they are not alive, through flashbacks, let John Daly dominate as the Legend he is, and give us something to watch. It met my expectations and I was entertained. More than I can say about the rest of the drivel we get fed, especially from the MCU outside of Guardians of the Galaxy.
I’ll be that guy. I much preferred Little Nicky and Mr. Deeds to any of the movies where Sandler did his worst Sam Kinison impression.
Little Nicky has grown on me a bit but it's more a few really funny parts tied together with painfully unfunny shit. Mr Deeds, even more of the same statement. Wanted it to be good because crazy Winona was in it but she helped poop it up.
Foster Brooks, Don Rickles, Robin Williams. Those guys were funny... I like Sandler and his crew for what they are. Just like the majority of movies, the first one jumped the shark and should have been it but whatever. I laughed.
My 12 and 14 y/o kids thought Happy Gilmore 2 was great too. Says more than enough about the rest of you tater heads.
Never seen most of Sandlers flicks. Not for any reason, just haven’t. I liked Click……..but that was for Kate Beckinsale
