The wife gave me the green light to buy a new bike. I only have 3 on my list at the moment, Ducati V4 street fighter, Tuono V4 or the super Duke. Anything else I should consider?
I've had 3 V4 Tuono's and a '20 SD 1290, and based on that, in your shoes I'd opt for the 1390SD - throw a Tech Pack and BT-Moto flash on it with a slip on - done. Tuono's are amazing but too cramped for me. I've never ridden a Streetfighter but reviews say it's the best track option of the 3 if that's a consideration.
I have the 2020 KTM 1290sdr. By far my favorite street bike ever. Its a blast to do trackdays on. The brakes are amazing, the engine power delivery is amazing, I love it!! Pretty damn comfy for a long street day. And I've seen a few good deals at dealerships on the 1390 (looks better in person)
I have a 1390 with full Akra, OFT tune, forged PVM's, pimped out. Oh yeah...37k valve check intervals...stuff that in your TV4.
Having recently had a Panigale 1199 along side the Superduke Evo - the engines were extremely different. I'm not sure if they've moved the power down the revs on the V4SF, but my SDR would out run the 1199 until it hit 8000+ RPM and then it was a rocket... so, it didn't make for great street manners, and didn't like to cruise under 5000rpm. The SDR otoh has gobs of tq lower in the revs and it will MOVE without having to rev the piss out of it. Much nicer around town.
