Keep the updates coming. I've got a bare metal cargo cargo van and need to do something like this over the winter. FWIW, I've got a rear AC too and when I put a hot bike in the AC can't keep up. So I put this ducting over the rear AC and run it up front. Much improved. http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc...splay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053
For a sound deadner..is that a word..lol This stuff works Great!! although a tad spendy. http://www.dynamatstore.com/
Awesome progress! Looks good so far! Don't forget to wire all your speakers, extra interior lights (if you want some) or even some 110 sockets to run off of an inverter now before you put it all back together! Keep up the pics!
No pictures this time, but I've been pouring the hours into the van. I bought new shocks to make this thing ride better and I only have one thing to say: If I ever meet the man who designed the shock mounting points for the Ford E-Series van I'm gonna kick him in the dick
It's been a busy week.... Wednesday: Got the shocks finished finally. Had to drill out the right front lower shock mounting stud because I broke it while removing the stupid thing. It took almost four hours but it's done now. Thursday: Not much went on, our ferret died this morning so no extra work today. Friday: Back at it. Got some good news, sort of. I was convinced that I had a transmission issue, most likely a torque converter problem that was going to cost $400+ to fix. I took it to Steinmetz and they said the transmission was fine but that I really needed a tune-up. Went to the auto parts store, bought 8 plugs, 8 boots, and a coil (just in case). Put the van on the diagnostic tool and sure enough, bad #3 coil. The plugs weren't as bad as I thought they'd be, no broken, stripped, or jammed plugs, just really hard to get to. Three and half hours and a lot of dirt and grease later and I was all done. Van runs like new now. Saturday: Busy day. Thank you to Bunz (Scott @ the Entertainer) for the great deal on a new stereo. I got a JVC with Bluetooth for my phone/iPod plus everything to install it for dirt cheap! By the time I got around to putting it in, they were closed so I ended up grabbing some cheap replacements for the busted stock speakers at walmart and throwing them in too. Now it was time to start getting trim pieces re-installed. I re-did my floor with a piece of carpeted panelling so it would be flat and because I didn't like the look of the stained, hole-filled stock carpet. This turned out much better: I also covered the door panels with the same carpet and re-installed them. You can see the new speakers here too: I did some work on the side panels but didn't get them finished. I did, however, get some little blindspot mirrors stuck on.
Sunday 10/9 I had huge aspirations for today but didn't get nearly as much done as I'd liked. My plan was to finish the interior off by finishing up the side panels, finishing the sound deadening, installing led lights in the headliner, installing the trailer restraint system, installing the trailer plug wiring, and installing the hitch. All I got done was the side panels but no pics because they really aren't done until I get the headliner put back in.
thats a kidnap quality job! Sound deading - check Loud stereo - check Halloween around the corner - check
