Good bourbon?

Jim Beam Old Tub is 100 proof and smooth as can be. I drink that stuff neat too. It's cheap too. On sale around me for $17.99 a bottle. Stuff is seriously tasty for the price. I discovered that stuff when we toured the distillery last summer and was very happy to find it in local stores when we got home.

 

These little hand grenades are good. They remind me of red stripes or session lagers because of the shape. I think they only sell them at the distillery gift shop but it’s worth the money if you happen to go there.

 

Hand grenades are awesome lol ... when my brother and I did the bourbon trail a few years ago we consumed quite a few of those one night at the hotel. It was quite the night, and we both felt it in the morning haha

 

My PSA for the week: do not purchase Knob Creek smoked maple. Just don't! I love maple and I love sweet- but this stuff is disgustingly, overwhelmingly in-your-face maple syrup flavor. The bottle will last me a LONG time, cause the only way to make it tolerable is to put a TINY amount in a cola or root beer. You have been warned!

Bourbon should be flavored with bourbon. Anything else is an abomination.

The wife actually bought it and a couple others for a "tasting" for her friends birthday. I was present at said purchase so I can't shift all the blame. I would have never imagined anything from Knob Creek would be so awful.

 

Have you tried on pancakes with some bacon?

That's my usual drink, it was bad. Adding just a trickle to other bourbons completely overpowers any other flavors.

 

No, but I'm sure it'll happen. A boozy milkshake is probably its best use case. The shit wasn't cheap (in my world), just wish it was useful as more than a flavoring.

 

Lori used to make me Rum Shakes all the time. Those were good days.

 

Just take it to a race and offer the bottle around, it will be gone in no time.

If you guys need a good hangover cure my buddy recommend Protekt packets off of Amazon or their website a few months ago.

We've been using them and they sure do work well.

One in a glass of water next to bed, when you wake up for that 3am alcohol piss, do a full chug and go back to sleep. If you went on a Vegas style bender have another on the drive to work in the morning
