2011 Suburban and I had to replace the brake light switch.

Fuggin purple wire snapped and now my brake lights are on 24/7.

My go to mechanic can get to it on Thursday but I kinda need the truck since my wife needs hers.

    Any quick fix....redneck fix?

Oh yeah, there is like zero room in that are to work.

    Thanks! FB_IMG_1678833981615.jpg

That looks like the connector for the switch, and not the switch. Yes? No? Jam a nail or something into the slot that the wire broke out of, and strip the purple wire and connect it.

    Just spitballin' here.

Yes, this is the connector for the brake light switch. Problem is like zero working room.

If you are close to an auto parts store, they might have a key set that will let you release the crimp on connector. Don't know what to tell you otherwise, then to jam something metal down the slot. A nail/pin/another stripped wire. Tape in in and connect the other wire.

    Sorry, not much help.

Get access to the connector, unpin that terminal, there will be a plastic block that comes out to allow the lock to release. Odds are there is an unused connector with matching terminals taped to the harness under the dash somewhere you can rob a terminal out of….
Or solder the wire back to the original terminal.

    Use a conductive epoxy

Option 2 is RIP the same wire out of the other side of the connector and connect them with a butt connector

Didn't even think about safety wire. I think that and some of that conducive epoxy is the way to go!

Right now I'm using some alligator clips and all is good for now.
