That's what I was thinking based on what I've heard. You get deep into 6th with that combo? I might bring some bigger rear sprockets as well.
-1 front +2 rear should be right for a decent pace. I had a +3 but you have to hit 6th before the bridge and you will be on the limiter down the straight. 07 gsxr 600
-1 +2 on a 2007 ZX6R has me right in the power band as I go under the bridge, I am just bouncing off the limiter as I hit my brake marker. I tried -1 +1 but I lost some drive coming out of 2,5 and 7 and dropping a gear there wasn't an option.
5 gear setup Hey Rick, you may want to let this person know that gearing is setup for use of 5 gears and not all 6. This makes a big difference. Unless ur running 1:29 or below, I'd suggest u start with 15/44 or 43 and again ur only using gears 1-5. Or u could run 15/47 (6 gears setup) and short shift like crazy. A buddy of mine runs that and likes it. He runs 1:31 laptimes, so it could work for u. It's all rider preference. Hope this helps.
My 04 GSXR 600 is -1/+2 (15/47) and it works to get me around Thunderbolt in the :33's. I'm clicking 6th at the start/finish and holding it for a bit until marker 4. I thought about going up another tooth in the rear but I'm worried about running out of gear in the decreasing radius, I'd rather not be shifting through there.
