gear indicator

    I've got a DataTool indicator and am trying to wire it into a 05 R6 with YEC ECU... I soldered everything in at the dash except for the speedo wire which I ran directly back to the speed sensor under the tank.

    Everything works correctly up to the point of shifting into 1st gear and holding at 2k rpm - it never seems to detect 1st and just continues to flash 1.

    Any thoughts?

    Try holding at a higher RPM, and possibly sightly dragging the rear brake.

    Tried higher RPM's already, haven't tried dragging the brake but will tomorrow.

    Just to follow up incase someone runs into this in the future...

    The problem was the neutral wire had been completely disconnected at the sensor; obviously the wire at the dash was therefore dead so I just ran a wire directly back to the sensor and presto it programmed in about 45 seconds.
