Can we put it anywhere besides Jersey?

    Dave K DaveK über alles!

It’s Jersey, someone will steal everything from the dirt they dredge to the solar panels to the asphalt.

Oh, they closed Bader field? I flew in there once. Took a friend out for dinner and slot machines on Valentine's Day.

Seems odd to build another track so close to NJMP. I am doubtful this will ever happen, but you never know. If it does get built, does it become Laguna of the east and only get like 2 or 3 race weekends per year and very strict sound regs for track days? Will the F1 cars destroy the tarmac and make it useless for motorcycles? Will NJMP ever get repaved? Will 867-5309 ever be able to be used as a telephone number again? Tune in about 8 years from now to find out.

Auto Country Club thing at best.

"This isn't about a racetrack; we're not holding races here," said Atlantic City attorney Dan Gallagher, another of the partners in the development company.
"The track is about 10% of what we're proposing here. This is about sustainability, jobs, green energy. It checks all the boxes.
It seems like everyone has had an idea for this property, but nothing like this."

Sounds like a lot of typical new green deal BS speak to me, so I doubt it'll ever actually happen.
But with a proposed construction estimate of 9+ years they can milk it for a long time.

If it's a go the good news is they'll have incentive to finish the I-295/I-76/Route 42 interchange project. Planning was started in 1985, they're still digging and pouring concrete.

That’s probably so slow as they have to miss or move bodies in the area.

The mafia really should have kept better records. Then again, longer project time means more profits for them.

They are using it for autocross, so it's semi useful

Hopefully better than Monticello where normal folk can drive the track

LOL YUP great way to launder money for the next 9-15 years....and they can use the solar panels to charge the electric race cars...

ETA is 2028 but I'm not sure if that is pre or post collapse. All I know is it looks like it hasn't been touched in the three years I've been driving through there.

Remember what NJMP was billed as prior to it's actual construction (750 hotel rooms!!!)? Same deal. IF this gets built, it'll be a nice flat club track which they gradually build up some condos around, maybe 1/5th of their initial projected infrastructure.

Only reason I see for 'Formula 1' in these plans is the same reason that Nashville has 5 Formula racing circuits - clueless people don't know that any other kind of racing exists outside of F1 and NASCAR.

Bader has been closed for years, maybe even decades.

With all the money they were not spending on lighting in the 90s, I figured it was run very efficiently. :D
