I see these guys in my neighborhood occasionally...but hardly anyone uses them anymore. Each time I purchase something and I see they are the carrier I just know it AINT arriving when its scheduled. Does anyone work for this company? I hate to say it but the USPS has a better reputation. Even DHL doesn't worry me. How are they still in business? Rant on....
I was just bitchin' about UPS but not the whole company (usually very good) but one sorting location where half the shit gets lost for a few days or forever. Fed Ex used to be the best. Now? Meh.
Neither is better than the other. It just depends on which hubs you are near, who your delivery driver is, and the same details for places you order things from. Some are better or worse than others in the case of both companies.
We use fedex exclusively at my office and have only really had one issue in the last 5 years that I can think of and that was our fault for not affixing a label well enough. Often shipping large pelican cases and crates with overnight or expedited shippping.
Fedex will leave our stuff in the rain or if the shop is closed no matter how maytimes we ask them not to. If we are open they just set it somwhere inside the open garage door and don't say a thing to us and we sometimes find it the next day after looking at the tracking and seeing it delivered. UPS will hold items if out of town racing and not leave them out in the rain if we aren't there. I don't have a problem with USPS except iif to wont' fit in the box we have to go get the package which isnt really an issue.
Id disagree... FedEx drivers are subcontractors... UPS drivers are full time employees with senority. The package car driver is one of the toughest positions to work since the routing, stops, turns, etc are ALL monitored. And all the packages loaded must be delivered... even if the driver has an accident or is sick. Tbe Teamsters put up a complaint, during contract negotiation, that no management is to do hourly work. There are part time guys on standby for those types of situations.
I don't have anything good to say about any of them, but I'd be glad to keep the dollars we pay for the USPS at this point. At least the others will still actually deliver to your door on occasion.
Our FedEx is subbed out and I don't ever have the same driver week to week. Parts Unlimited switched from UPS to Fedex a couple years ago and Fedex isn't as consistent, alot of times stuff takes an extra day now too. And last summer a FedEx driver got out of his truck with it in reverse and it backed into / thru my office wall. $3500 insurance job, the guy lost his job, it was the third thing he'd hit since he started.
USPS in Michigan ABSOLUTELY SUCKS!!! packages bounce between Lansing, Grand Rapids, and the Detroit hubs, and just run circles for days, until someone figures out the package needs to go to the local post office for delivery. Sometimes in state it takes 5-7 days to get a package. UPS, Fedex in state, next day. Just insane. I am waiting for a package that was shipped from Mass to Mich on June 23rd... Still dont have it. Finally with 2 weeks of no movement, and after arguing with the vendor, telling them I would just dispute charges with my CC, the douchnozzle opened a missing mail claim. He wont resend the order saying, "you will get it". Ski
Hell, we had a period where FedEx was just dropping stuff in the street outside the gates to the community even though they get the access code every time it changes.
It's a tough job, but in very short order, that driver problem will disappear. The robots will deliver on the exact square inch you want them to, every time.
I've had issues with big things with USPS. Like a cbr600f3 cylinder head. What pissed me off most, is they had it, said it was damaged, but wouldn't deliver it. Rather than delivering it and letting me make the decision on if it was damaged. I'm guessing someone needed a doorstop, and figured it was heavy enough to do the job.
Overnight is real Fedex. Ground is a shitshow run by contractors with drivers making $13/hr so they dont GAF.
Fedex will get it to the right City then it's up to the dumbass minimum wage driver on whether he actually delivers it or not. I work from home so call them out every time when I see my tracking status go attempted delivery no one home and I literally sit 3 ft from my front door. They just don't like wasting time coming up to the front door to get a signature when required so they just lie and keep driving.
They just raised stamps to 78 cents each…the “Forever Stamp” was a great way for them to not have to show us how much they’re f*cking us on postage by having to put the price on the stamp.
