This has happened on every old gen 250 motor I've run (I'm on # 3). Huey said it was a bent shift fork, probably from my inaccurate rev matching on down shifts. Hey Kurt, you still need that compression gauge then?
Mine is an 09. I did take it apart and saw no damage. One shift cog had SLIGHT wear, but that was it. I have heard that there is a shift detent spring mod that solves this.
