Electron carb on a 2 stroke?

Has anybody here ever had one? I have an old (2003) RM250 that had one on it when I bought the bike.

There is no a/f screw for adjusting the idle mixture. Seems weird. It runs decent, but it sure would be nice to have the a/f adjustment.

Being used to tuning Keihin pwk's, not sure if the Lectron is an actual upgrade or not? The bike gets good mpg, doesn't foul plugs or anything. It also never really seems to have that crisp snap that makes a 2 stroke fun...

Not sure if I actually typed "Electron" or if one of you smart asses changed that.

I use a Smart Carb, evolution of the Leccy on a 1992 Yamaha WR250ZD turned supermoto, before I overbored the bike further the bike behaved better than an EFI 450, two kicks max to light up and didn't give a shit about hot/cold/etc, just ran great.

Now that the bike is a 292 I think it's foaming the gas from vibration under sustained load, rips 1st through 3rd, detonates and breaks up 4th and higher.

I know you asked about Lectron on a 2t, but here's my experience.
I put a Lectron on a barn find Honda 2005 CRF250X that had 10 hours on it, if that. It had been sitting for years probably with pump gas in it. Carb is fantastic and starts, runs flawlessly.
In my research which included possibly rebuilding the stock carb and other opotions, it became clear that Lectrons are originally meant for 2 strokes, but I would not hesitate to get one for a 4T. They also have upgraded to billet versions with float bowl drains.

Reread your post. The Lectron adjusts and runs differently from "normal" carburetors. PM me your email, I think I have a digital version of a Lectron manual. I think it's much simpler. The metering circuits act like traditional jets.

No affiliation just a satisfied customer.

    What elevation are you at?
I have a 3 year old Lectron off my old 250x sitting in my tool box.

Ok, thanks guys. I have downloaded the manual and will work on learning how to tune the Lectron.

I have one on my 18 TX 300 and my son's 23 TC 65. Both ran like hammered dog shit and got horrible mileage with the stock carbs. I tried needles, jets, kits and every adjustment known to man on my 300. I put the Lectron on and haven't touched it since. Better mileage and very crisp. When the boys bike had the same problems, it took about an hour and one wasted ride to make the decision. I had it ordered before we even loaded up. Same result. Very crisp and way better mileage.

If my 24 TX 300 has any fueling issues, I'll put one on that sucker too!
