Drag Strips In The SE?

What tracks still exist today?

Any do test and tune days?

 

Where are you? There are 1/8 & 1/4 mile tracks around middle Georgia , 1/4 mile track near Valdosta. 1/8 mile track around Greenville SC and around Augusta Ga but actually in SC.

 

Brainerd does test and tune Tuesdays and Fridays. They are right off I 75 at the TN/GA line.

There are still dragstrips all over the southeast in operation on a weekly basis.

 

Wilkesboro Dragway - TNT is on Thursday nights.
Mooresville Dragway - TNT vary ( see their website )
Farmington Dragway - TNT on Friday nights.

 

Just north of Knoxville has an 1/8 mile strip. Friday nights are when the TNT nights are.

 

the 1/8 mile in Greer (Greenville) is hot on Thursday nights.

 

I am close enough to hear it, but far enough away for the sound to be soothing.

When I was a kid, we lived about the same distance from the Anderson Speeday.

In Florida I believe we have Desoto in Bradenton. The big one in Gainesville and I believe the one I used to go to in Orlando is still open. I’m sure there’s more but that’s the three I’ve been to.

Other 1/8M tracks around here Buffalo Valley & Union Hill

Memphis and Bristol on the bookends of the state have 1/4M tracks that the NHRA has Nationals on.

 

The only frat I was ever in had automatic weapons and heavy artillery.

But my drag cars have been slow...no $$$$ to invest. and now that I have some $$$ and hp is cheap (boosted LS, yes please) I want to do other stuff. Also doesnt help that the old school 1/4 mile track near me closed. And I hear Martin (US131) is running 1/8 for actual races mostly, but 1/4 mi for TNT.

 

Buncha FWD Slick driving Honda brrrrapp brrrrrrrrapppp driving, big wing accord, woosh woosh going 23mph thru the trap stupid ass...mumble mumble....get off my lawn.


Hey...why not just race to the 330? or even 60 ft...yeah. best 6000hp on 5in wide tires with toxic chemical soup prep to the 60ft...thats the American way.


Or worse yet...gat in your lambo and go roll race....OK Guido....If you cant Launch it, you cant race it.
