do you find the mount for the insta360 to be to big? I don't care for how tall it would be on a MTB. But the filming in 360 would be pretty sweett when we do the bigger jump lines.

Heck, I still use a Contour Rain2. Super simple, super easy to use, has been 100% reliable even with a couple crashes. I know it's not what all the cool kids use...but it just flat out works.

Short standalone clips are likely from the camera shutting off. This happens because of excess vibration or overheating. Keeping your camera out of the sun and putting the mount on a less vibration-prone spot are good ideas. But it’s likely this will always happen occasionally - moto trackdays are really hard on cameras.

Files are max ~4GB. So once the recording reaches that size limit, the GoPro starts a new file and continues recording. With the same recording settings, that 4GB will be reached at exactly the same video duration. On my MAX, it’s 8:02 every single time cuz it uses diff settings than your GoPro.

GoPros file naming convention is a little confusing. The first file will be something like GH01####.mp4. The 2nd file will be GH02####.mp4. The #### part is the same for a single recording. The 01 and 02 are the sequential files for that recording. GH01 is the first 11:48, GH02 is the next up-to 11:48 of the recording, etc etc.

If you look at all your files on a computer, they will probably be ordered by name. This puts them out of order - chronological order - which is confusing. Itll be less confusing if you make your computer order them by Creation Date, as that’s the order in which you recorded everything.

I don’t own an Insta360, I just look into tech on the internet a lot. lol

Ya I’m also not a fan of the form factor for action sports. It really seems to be made to go on a selfie stick, not tucked away on a bike or moto.

My fav MTB channels use the chesty most often, so you wouldn’t need a 360. One channel did run a 360 sideways on their helmet though. I’m sure they looked funny with it sticking up so high haha.
