the story on the monster board is the owner loaned it to some squid kid, who then crashed it. rearsets in the ducati catalog were $3000.00!!! i tend to agree, better than it collecting dust. hey, if theyre gonna be ridden, theyre gonna be crashed.
Catalyst makes bodywork for that bike and the way he got the molds was through a guy that let his brother ride it at Big Willow. The big expense is the rear sub frame, if that's yonkered then he's out dollahs y0. Saw one on the track this w/e. Sounds great, not sure I'd ever spend $72K on a motorcycle though.
I don't see what the problem is... I'd rig up a foot peg from another bike and rock on! Cosmetic damage adds character and just means you don't have to worry about scrathing it anymore.
That sh$t'll buff right out! There was a thread somewhere about the first Desmosedici delivered in Cali. The owner's brother took delivery and promptly dropped it on it's side. The side panel was reportedly $7k.
I admire the guy for putting the thing on the track, but if I owned it and anyone was going to crash it, that would be me... I can't even let myself ride my buddies 1098 out of fear of having to pay a huge repair bill. If he's patient he'll run across some bodywork on ebay!
sucks but im sure everyone of us knows what it feels like to go down. and if you don't im sure u will
